Oakcrafts - Oak Shaker Peg 3.5" - (Pack of 10)

The oak pegs were great value for money. Worked really well and did a great job. They’re a little bit grainy so need a few coats to get them smooth if painting. I will buy them again for the next project.

As noted in another review, the oak pegs are OK but are a little rough in places. Out of 10, 3 have a texture that would snag clothing (so will need sanded) and 1 has a noticable chip on the head. But even though they are not the best quality they are acceptable at this price. I didnt find cheaper elsewhere. I only need 6 so am fine with 1 or 2 duds but would advise anyone who needs 10 or more to buy two packs and pick the best.

Overall I am happy with this product. However I have knocked one star off the rating for 2 reasons:1) Out of the pack of 10 pegs I only needed 6. This was just as well because some of the pegs were not a very even profile, mainly owing to the wood grain being slightly coarser in places and slightly more material being removed while in the lathe. Being as I only needed 6 out of the 10 in the box, I was able to select the 6 best, so it was not a major issue for me.2) The pegs did not appear to have been finished off after removal from the lathe. This meant that there were some wood fibres sticking proud of the pegs and these fibres would have caught on garments - particularly fluffy ones. Again not a major issue - the pegs just needed some sanding to remove the fibres.Generally speaking though, I am happy with the product.
