I was speaking with a friend about children's books and 'what's popular' these days with kindergartners. She recommended Eggbert, having fallen in love with the book and story with her 5 year old son. My nephew, also in kindergarten, loves to read, but I was hoping to find something he hasn't heard of yet. I made sure with my sister that my nephew doesn't yet have it nor has he read it. I'm hoping he likes it - haven't given it to him yet.I did, however, read the entire book and was so impressed by the artwork and message of the story - in an age when bullying is a hot topic and unfortunate occurrence in schools, this book will hopefully instill compassion, tolerance, understanding, and acceptance of others. Poor Eggbert, slightly cracked, is kicked out of the fridge and in his travels, begins to notice that he's not "all he's cracked up to be." However, as Eggbert travels around and learns about the world around him, he realizes it's not so bad being cracked after-all. Goo Eggbert!

I loved this book growing up! I read it to my class every year. I just bought this copy for my nephew who also loved it!
