Back To The Light [180g LP/2 CD Boxset]

I purchased this as both a Queen and Brian May fan and was quite pleased by the quality of the recording. Boxed set is a good bonus representation of this creation by May.

Overall, this box is light on content, but is excellently presented. The cardboard used for the box itself is so thick, it almost feels like too much! Both the CD and the LP of the album are included. That can be a positive or negative, depending on what you want. The bonus CD has great material, probably the highlight of the box. The white colored vinyl looks great, so that's a definite plus. The 2 CDs are in lightweight sleeves and slot into the bottom of box. Not the best storage option, as you have to pull out everything in the box to get to the CDs. I'd definitely have preferred for the CDs to be in stronger sleeves, so when they come out of the box and travel, they're better protected.

I’ve listen too this many times from my brother to friends…Incredible!! This is Brian Mays..what more can I say. If you’re not a fan of Queen are just want to hear what he sounds like, do so!!!

Das Album war bereits vor fast 30 Jahren ein Wow-Moment, während mir der Tod Freddies (R.I.P.) ebenfalls noch in den jungen Teenager-Knochen hing.Aber dieses Box-Set ist großartig und alles darin Enthaltene macht Freude inspiziert, gehört, gelesen oder einfach nur angesehen zu werden!Remastered macht das Intro und alles was dann folgt noch mehr Gänsehaut als das Original es ohnehin schon tut.Kaum zu glauben, dass ich vor fast 30 Jahren von einem Brian-May-Konzert nach Hause kam und dieses Cover als S/W-Poster an meine Zimmertür gehängt habe. Es hängt seither ununterbrochen - wenn auch bereits an der vierten Tür!Allen, die zögern, spreche ich hiermit eine klare Kaufempfehlung aus - auch wenn das „alte Album“ eigentlich noch gut zu sein scheint.Dieses hier ist besser! :-)So please, keep in rockin‘, Dr. May!!!

Todo correcto

The first gig I ever went to was Brian May on his Back to the Light tour. That this tour was immortalised in "Live at the Brixton Academy" has helped those memories never fade. There's a tenderness and an anger in this work and May's great qualities shine through. The songs are great, the guitar playing stellar and taking the lead vocal on every track works out just fine too.In terms of the boxset it is well put together. The original album sounds great with a few moments that I hadn't previously heard in the mix. The bonus disc is good fun too, although I'm not sure how much of it was totally new to me? The booklet is great too, having the same feel as the tour program from the time. I'd dig out the two t shirts I bought from the gig but there's no chance they will fit! (Also special mention for Cozy Powell, what a legend you were!!)

Brian May is a living legend. The busiest guy in the business.His first 'proper' solo album , after Starfleet , and a forgotton gem.Has had a revamp. Not dramatically different from the original which to my ears is a good thing.Lovely boxset. Not full of cardboard and crap. Well thought out. Buy one.Another World in 2022??
