Absolutely the best on the concept
I previously built a business where I was trapped in the business, missed a $500k acquisition offer, and I made all the mistakes the author identified in the book.I burned it to the ground, and starting over from scratch in a different sector, but I became obsessed with knowing how to do it right this time, and this is probably the best book on the subjectI have read a number of them, however with this one, it is like the author is aware that the person he is talking to is out of his depth, so he really makes it so easy to understand as if he was talking a young child, making it really easy to grasp instead of using industry jargons. The examples and stories in the book are so practical and feel familiar, that you leave each chapter knowing much more than before.Highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to build a successful, Buyable business.

Thought Provoking Book
The book was well written, interesting and was clearly written by an expert in the field. It is always interesting to get the details behind the deals, what works and what brings a deal to fail. No two buyers or sellers are alike and the anecdotes made the book that much more flavorful. It was also valuable to learn more about international and cross-border deals, areas in which I lack knowledge. As someone who is intimately familiar with the subject matter, I did have one point that I feel needs more substantiation. The insinuation that only one in 12 businesses is really sellable, does not fit with what I see every day. I am not sure I would support the Statista findings - does this data capture all sales including mergers, employee buyouts, kids buying out their parents, etc.?

Awesome guide for any business owner!
Buyable is a must read for any business owner wanting more from their business. A fantastic balance of theory, storytelling, tactical, practical application and even some super online tools. From the first chapter you move from "Designing Your Future" to structuring and growing your business and then finish the final chapter "Construct Your Ideal Life" with tools, stories, and very practical advise to gain momentum, create value, and sell your business! Loved all of it - every business owner should read it and keep in on their shelf and use the tools on their path to building a Buyable business.

Don't Read This Book....If you enjoying wearing many hats and don't want your business to Scale.
Refreshing, applicable and extremely relevant read. A few critical of the "repetition" in the book but this is necessary when the Author wants the Reader to retain and USE THE WISDOM in the book.I will be giving this book to several clients that have struggles to get their business in a place that it can truly grow AND scale with less friction than they are experiencing today. TONS of Tools, Stories and Frameworks to make great use of what is taught here.Only an Author that has truly Done this work can write a book like this.Great addition to my arsenal!

Good, insightful look at starting, growing and selling a Buyable Business
Steve Preda takes his decades of experience, research and statistical data to walk the reader through not only the lift of building a "Buyable" business, but also the pit falls and opportunities that can arise along the way. Many books in the business management world - commit to a "one size fits all" or this is the newest fad and try to debunk or only pitch ONE way to do things. Without focusing on only one management style, Preda highlights the main concepts/theories that have been adopted and adapted over the past century and gives them all equal and fair consideration. Then highlights specific examples from his M&A background or business coaching experience. At times it can get a bit technical and distracting with some of the stories but overall his direct interaction from both his European and American negotiations play into his explanation of how to layout the plan of starting, building and orchestrating a Buyable Business.-Patrick Burke

Too much theory
Don’t waste your time reading this book.Lots of theory and no practical ideas. There are other books far better than this one.

Must Read If You Own A Business
It's important to think about your exit strategy as you start your business. If you do this, and follow Steve's suggestions, you'll build a very "buyable" business that will ensure that you achieve your financial goals and even financial freedom. Be sure to take his assessments to find out the value of your business and then you can predict the future value so you can plan for your future retirement. This book answers many questions that aren't shared in business school or in many entrepreneurial training organizations. In fact, you should read it more than once since there are many solid, helpful pieces of advice for you to glean from Steve's wisdom.

Essential info for any business owner
I appreciated this book because it was very easy to follow and grounded in practical insights. It gave me advice that I can actually use, rather than just theory. It's clear that Steve Preda's insights come from both his long experience and proven industry best practices, and I'm confident that this book provided the best advice from both practical and theoretical sources. I'll be referring to it for many years.
