Great for eyeglass wearers
Very pleased with these Olympus binoculars - clear, bright, reasonably compact and best of all they work well while keeping my glasses on, which is essential for me. Being waterproof is a plus. The eye cups screw in for use with eyeglasses and out for use with the naked eye. The cups can be left in either position when the lens caps are replaced. We have an old pair of binoculars specifically made for eyeglass wearers, but that manufacturer is long gone. The plus of this other pair is that it had an extension on the eye side that rested on your nose, so that you did not have to press the binoculars against the lenses of your glasses as you do with this Olympus pair. Yet, this pair is brighter and has sharper focus than that older set, and I do not see the eye cups scratching my lenses unless they might already have some kind of abrasive dust on them. Looking at the roof of a house 1/4 mile away as a comparison test, every detail of the roof shingles was in focus with these binoculars, compared to my older, similarly priced pair.Watching a herd of elk this morning, the clarity and brightness of these Olympus binoculars were wonderful. Highly recommended.

Arguably the best 8x42 binoculars available at any price
I have never written a product review before, but my expectations for these binoculars were so under estimated that I felt the need to write a few words. At a selling price of $200.00 I understood the possible quality limitations. However I foundEye relief to be absolutely excellent, especially for eye glass users.Image clarity and brightness are spot on, certainly in part because of the wide field of view.My shipped example was optically perfectly aligned for superb sharpness once focused.Kudos to Olympus producing for a very high quality compact sized product.

Nice upgrade and much less expensive than similar products
I painstakingly compared this to the similar Nikon 8x42 roof prism binoculars and decided this is every bit as good for much less money. The lenses you hold up to your eyes are so much larger and brighter than other binoculars I've used. I'm really happy with these.

Best binoculars
This is one of the best binoculars I have ever owned. I have been birding for more than fifteen years and apart from Zeiss and Swarovski, these are the best I have used. They are hardy and durable.

Good Binoculars, With One Caveat
These are good binoculars, very clear and sharp image, easy to adjust, and a nice soft case is included. HOWEVER...I returned mine. The reason is the larger lens caps kept constantly falling off, and it would have been just a matter of time before they were lost. Furthermore, these lens caps have little ridges built into their inside perimeter, probably intended to help keep the caps on. Not only does this not work, but these ridges damage and mar the finish to the binocular itself. Clearly Olympus needs to find a better set of lens caps that won't cause damage to an otherwise good product. Photo shows just one of several blemishes caused by the lens caps.

Very poor quality and design
It worked for few months then can not focus anymore. Very poor quality and design. Will not buy again.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - POOR QUALITY - SHAM REPAIR SERVICE
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS INFERIOR PRODUCT. I just spend $70 to send my set in to Olympus, two years old, minimal use, high level of customer care. An internal ocular had come loose. Olympus stated it would cost the replacement cost of the binoculars to repair it...so that tells me it takes $500 to unscrew a set of binoculars to reset an ocular? Why the hell wasn't it built right in the first place? Swarovski, Zeiss, or Nikon will bet my business in the future. Do not hope these folks to produce quality or stand behind it when it goes south. They will disappoint you.
