First a better sealing should be used. It is food and there should be no doubt even the smallest one that the jar is already opened.I didn't smell vanilla when opened the jar, it is kind of sand. Added the powder on hot milk and no flavor.I don't know if the one I got is defective as I see good reviews!! I cannot recommend this product

The BEST, most vanilla, deliciousness you can imagine!!!!!!!! I even add it to my protein smoothies & anything that would require the soothing deliciousness of Vanilla! YUM!

This vanilla bean powder seems to be more shells than beans. It has virtually no flavor and barely any aroma. I tried putting a large amount with expresso grounds and got some aroma but zero flavor. Adding the same to smoothies or lattes produced zero flavor and zero aroma but a lot of grit. Which is pretty unpleasant in a beverage. Also the product cannot be returned to the seller.

I’m a convert to powdered vanilla after this product. I usually buy alcohol based vanilla but that limits what I can use it in. I don’t want my shakes having a booze flavor.

I started experimenting with powdered vanilla rather an extract last year and in general I love it. This Lafaza ground vanilla is wonderful. Smells great when you open it and so easy to throw into cooking, baking, smoothies. We use it in our crepes and it's delicious. You will see dark spots because of the vanilla, but that's not a turn off for us.
