Micro SATA Cables USB 3.0 mSATA SSD Adapter as USB Disk Driver

Works as advertised. Within 10 minutes I had my drive mounted and up and running. Speed tests provided get performance results. Product is self explanatory so no need to provide detailed feedback. If you are in the market for this I highly recommend it. Great option for tech that need to swap drives or reimage.

Needed a way to read and write mSATA devices and this USB adapter does the trick. It is a USB 3 device so it is quick and I have had no problems so far. The only thing I wasn't 100% happy with is the mSATA hold down screws. These screws are very small and they are not easy for me to use. As mentioned in other reviews, there is no protective case but this is a plus for my needs and, the lack of a case, is very apparent from the picture/description.

I've had this and used it for about 6 months and it is solid. I've added a second and used it for a few months and it has also worked flawlessly.Firstly, I fitted a 1TB Samsung EVO mSATA drive. Then I initialized it in Win7 Disk Mgr, made a simple volume, and then formatted it as exFAT. Everything functioned as expected, including file copies.Performance:1GB worth of 4K files (small files) transferred from a USB 3 Patriot Magnum thumbdrive took 1 min 35 seconds.A (large) 1GB iso file transferred from a USB 3 Patriot Magnum thumbdrive took 0 (zero) min 12 seconds.I deployed two of them as primary storage devices attached to a USB 3.0 hub attached to a notebook computer. They do everything that I ask of them without any hiccups.-

Installed known good Zheino mSATA SSD 512GB M3 Internal mSATA Drive which works in my Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with no issues. Plugged into a USB 3.0 slot on my powered off Surface Pro 3 and restarted my PC, expecting the drive to show up, however, it did not appear in file explorer. The red light and blue light are both on, but no device appears. I tried hot swapping but still did not work. Reinstalled in my Raspberry Pi and the mSATA SSD card worked fine. I will update this later after I fiddle some more, because I really need this to clone the card. If unsuccessful I will be asking for a refund

The device works fine, and I don't want to understate the importance of that. However, one of the retaining screws broke off in shipping and the other broke after two uses. I had to solder both back on the board, and given my limited soldering skills, it took a couple of tries to get them on and staying. With those board-retaining screws in place, the adapter works fine and I have used it three times without another incidence.

Am not sure why the other reviewer gave it a "Bad Service" as mine arrived before expected delivery time and is EXACTLY as shown. The unit is triple packed in protective layers for shipping and is then put in a thick envelope. an mSATA SSD slips right in there and yes the little retaining screws are supplied with the unit. It is certainly very fast on first use. I need such a tool to image mSATA drives on my work-bench so this is not something I planned on using as a carry-around storage thumb-drive type storage unit. There are other units on Amazon that include the enclosure so it is most unfair for the previous and only reviewer to give it one star when he got exactly what he ordered.

So far, I have had no luck getting this to work with my mSATA drive -- and it may be the USB's fault. Naturally, I'm not attempting to use this with USB2 but even with USB3, my mSATA drive likely exceeds the power requirements of the USB3 specification. The Samsung 850EVO requires [email protected] => that's roughly [email protected] but USB3.0 only allows for 0.9A@5V. A typical "User Error" plugging in the wrong device -- but it is frustrating that this mSATA-to-USB adapter has no over-current alert. USB3 has this feature and it is helpful in detecting problems like this.-) Please add a over-current LED or blink the existing one.-) The description should mention the limitation of the max current of the mSATA device

Perfect for cloning and transferring data. Used it with a Samsung Msata Card to clone and move data on a Lenovo W520 portable workstation laptop in Windows 10 Pro. Worked perfectly. Highly recommended.
