My boys loved this!
My 8 and 5 year old boys loved building this with me. It's great that you can build the body/head of the robot and then use that base to make lots of variations. We are still working on our 1st robot but we tested the head/ body portion and it works great! It started moving as soon as we put it in the sun. My boys needed my assistance. I believe older kids would be able to put this together independently. It was a great purchase for the price. We will be having so much fun with the little guy.

Motor only ran for a few seconds then never ran again
First... I know this is for 10 year olds... however... my 6 year old puts together LEGO sets that are for 12+ so I didn’t see any harm in giving him something more challenging to do. I did the body and put the gears and sides to the body on andhe did all the other parts with 💯 of my supervision. We tested the motor when it said to and it worked when putting up to a light bulb for a few seconds so we moved on.We finished it and thought to take it outside and try it out with the sun. Maybe because it was slightly smoky outside, but it did not work with the sun. Then we put back to a light bulb... it ran for about 2 seconds and stopped running. Kinda of disappointing that it only worked for a few seconds and just stopped. Maybe it’s faulty, not sure but it no longer works. He will probably end up with it just on his shelf with his LEGO sets because it doesn’t work.I have other types of STEM sets for us to do together when he earns them so maybe those will be more rewarding.

Fun
Easy to assemble and fun to play with for the whole family.

A process to get it put together, but totally worth it.
A fun project gift for older kids. 8-12 with a parent to cut out parts. And 12+ should be able to accomplish it completely on their own. This is a brilliant gift idea for any tween or teen interested in robotics. The assembly process is tedious, but you get to assemble it top to bottom all on your own. The directions are easy to follow and it is a really fun toy once you get it all together. My younger kids (2,4) love it now that we were able to get it all assembled. It was a fun project for me and my husband. It took about 2 hours to complete. Definitely a fun gift idea for older kids and a good learning gift as well!

Fun for the whole family
Fun for the whole family. My boys were a little too young to do it on their own but their dada was happy to help them out, we’ve had lots of fun changing the robot over and over again. Would recommend for kids older who could read the instructions on their own, 10 and up you know? The only thing I would say is that the instructions are a little confusing at times but other than that cool stem toy!
