While unscrewing one of these 5 to clean them before use, I ran a very fine metal splinter into my thumb. It hurt like hell. I tried and tried to get it out, but could not. It was so small I could not see it, but could only feel it. I feel like it must have been a machining shaving left on the item when packaged. I since was able to get most of the splinter out, but some stayed in (it broke off in my thumb). Today I notice it does not hurt any more, and assume that it came out on its own, but no idea where it ended up.On another note, I do like the idea of a permanent toothpick to carry with me, because I use them all the time, but occasionally when eating meals at my son or daughter's home, they do not have toothpicks, and I always need one. I carried one of those wooden toothpick holders in my pocket that you could keep about 10 toothpicks in but the top wore out and toothpicks came out in my pocket all the time, So I found a small plastic one with a flip open lid. The flip open lid wore out after a while, and same problem. So I have great optimism about these. My only concern is keeping it sanitary. After using, I usually have lens cleaners with me that are alcohol based, so I can use one of those to clean it before storing it away. However, this is a bit cumbersome and inconvenient. But for now that's how I'm dealing with the sanitary part--keeping the toothpick clean between uses. It seems durable. So far I'm pretty pleased with using it because it is small and fits into the smallest tooth gaps. However, it deserves a bit of caution. It does not "give" like a wood or bamboo toothpick, so you need to be sure you don't accidently stab your mouth inside. Also, because it is metal, it would be easy to damage your teeth if you're not careful to use it very gently. I've mastered it, but if you buy it, be careful about that. Good price, good item (except for the bonus metal splinter).

Perfect little pokey thing for keeping in your backpack. I keep mine on the zipper pull. The tip is sharpish but not so sharp that it is brittle or excessively pointy. Good as a toothpick, reset button pusher, getting into tight spaces on detailed models, etc.

Bought to use as a poker for my… tobacco pipes. Works perfectly!!!!!
