Based on the wildly acclaimed New York Times bestseller Maybe You Should Talk To Someone comes the official groundbreaking companion guide to discovering your most authentic life story. “Part of getting to know yourself is to unknow yourself – to let go of the limiting stories you’ve told yourself about who you are so that you can live your life, and not the stories you’ve been telling yourself about your life.” Lori Gottlieb, New York Times bestselling author of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone When Maybe You Should Talk to Someone was released into the world, it became an instant New York Times bestseller and international phenomenon, with readers across the globe finding their truth in the powerful stories Lori Gottlieb shared from inside her therapy room. As millions highlighted and underlined page after page, a movement took shape and they asked for more: Can you take these lessons and create for us a guide as transformative as the book itself? Lori decided to do just that. In this empowering, one-of-a kind workbook, Lori offers a step-by-step process for becoming the author of your own life by giving it a thorough edit. Using eye-opening concepts, thought-provoking exercises, compelling writing prompts, and real examples from the beloved patients in the original book, Lori has created an easy-to-follow guide through the journey of becoming our own editors, examining aspects of our narratives that hold us back, and discovering the ways in which changing our stories can change our lives. An experience, a meditation, and a practical toolkit combined into one, Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: The Workbook is the companion readers have been asking for: a revolutionary method for understanding which stories to keep and which to revise so that we can create our own personal masterpieces. By the end of this “unknowing,” you will be surprised, inspired, and most of all, liberated. Review: Helpful! - Bought this for myself when I couldn’t get in to counseling services during a challenging time in my life/academic career. Of course this isn’t a substitute for individualized professional counseling but at the time when I didn’t have access it was a truly helpful book to guide me through that rough patch.

Brilliant!
I loved reading Lori Gottlieb's, "Maybe You Should Talk to Someone," so I bought the Workbook to work on myself and see what I could discover. From the beginning, I noticed how in depth the topics were. I was a bit scared to spill my guts on paper, but it's totally worth it! I have a therapist, but there are certain things she doesn't know about me for fear of being judged. I felt good confiding in this book. I take it on the train with me on my way to work and it's a good stress reliever. There are so many new things I learned about myself and I'm grateful for Ms. Gottlieb's help!

For those of you who HAVEN’T read the book
I went for it with out the background reading. I think there is a lack of synchronization in the questions but they are thought provoking and I’m sure alongside with the book this workbook would be a great start to working out issues. Always worth a try!

Good companion to the book
I really enjoyed this workbook. I recommend having the original book on hand to remember all of the stories referenced. The paper isn’t super thick but I used a highlighter and felt tip pen for most of it and didn’t experience bleed through. I like how it encourages turning the reflection into action. The self reflection in this book helped me finally end a relationship that was not working and make an appointment for therapy, both of which I had been intending to do but struggled to go through with. This workbook is like structured journaling which worked well for me since I already journal regularly. If you liked the book I recommend this workbook.
