Used bunch of heavy duty Teflon tape and it sealed well. No leaks after months of service. **Q: Temperature max?** A: No specific answers. To be safe I would just figure the maximum theoretical ambient air temperature plus 10-15Β°. So on 110Β°F day in the sun I’d figure 125Β°f as an extreme threshold **Q: What is the flow rate? How many gallons per minute will it flow?** A: I have no idea. I was never happy with the original installation for the fountain in our garden, first the plastic hose burst from the water pressure (needing a pressure regulator installed in the supply line) then the plastic float valve broke causing our front yard to flood. So, having more trust in metal I installed this metal float valve with all brass fittings and a braided hose. One minor detail is the brass elbows to avoid any kinks in the hose so it's rather a no expense spared project after the problematic history of flooding the yard. One comment I should make about the thread on the valve after reading reviews about the threads being an issue. the thread on the valve is in fact a 1/2" IPS (aka FIP) which is commonly used on toilets and hoses like this that fit it are commonly available in just about any hardware store. It isn't a tapered thread, and it isn't supposed to be.
