Excellent Shop Lights
I needed to replace my older garage lights because they were too dim when working in the garage and these are excellent. Tons of bright light , easy to install and the packaging was excellent. Highly recommend

Bad packaging for lights
The product is great itself and the bigger quantity was useful, but the packaging it was in did not protect it from breaking and I have 3 lights were broken upon receiving from deliverer. Also, it is a shame to not be able to replace the ones broken.

Back ordered took 5 weeks to get.
If you are in a hurry for lights, these probably are not for you. I ordered these as an experiment and they worked as advertised! Awesome. However when I ordered more of them, the first set arrived all broken. The replacement set took over 5 weeks to receive. Good lights bad supply chain! I just hope they last as long as they say they will. We shall see.

Work fine with an inexpensive electric ballast
I have a finished garage with a spackled and painted ceiling and inset florescent light fixtures. One of six fixtures had a failed ballast and replacing it with one from a big box store resulted in that one failing too as well as it could not run LED tubes.I bought these univeral LED 4 foot tubes (2 in each fixture) to pair with the Philips RELB2S40N, Ballast 2 Bulb Electronic T-12THe new LED's are daylight and slightly dimmer than the original florescent bulbs but plenty bright enough. The tubes are LED strips in a GLASS tube. This is good since the glass will not yellow in time as can happen with plastics. However the package was not well packed by Amazon and most of the tubes were broken. Amazon replaced them quickly, the new ones were also poorly packaged but none broke so I was ok. I did not have to return the broken tubes which would have been a massive pain. The fixture is working perfectly now.If I encounter any longevity issue I will edit this but so far I am fully satisfied.

READ this BEFORE you order! Compatible with MOST Instant Start Ballasts?
Just about 1 year ago, I bought these to replace the Fluorescent bulbs in my kitchen fixture. I bought the Eight pack to have spares for other fixtures to replace Fluorescent bulbs as they burn out. I'd previously bought many other LED replacements for conventional bulbs and never had issues. The four bulbs in my kitchen fixture are wonderful and have now been installed about one year. IF SO, WHY only ONE star? Read on:About a month ago, the fluorescent bulbs burned out in my mudroom "shop" fixture. I reread this Amazon ad that says compatible with MOST Instant Start Ballasts and looked at the ballast. It says "INSTANT START." From the meager information provided here, these Philips LED bulbs SHOULD BE compatible. BTW, IF the bulbs are NOT compatible with any particular ballast, HOW is the consumer to know? (Signify/Philips - answer this question!)After just a few uses of the new LED bulbs, I started smelling something burning in our mudroom. I had NO idea of the source of the odor . To be honest, the LED bulbs NEVER occurred to me! I searched my house high and low (even the attic and the basement) for possible sources. I was VERY concerned about a hidden fire. The 2nd time I noticed the strong odor. I asked my wife if she could tell from where the odor was coming. She SAW SMOKE coming from one end of the light fixture!!!!I immediately turned the light off and removed the bulbs. Please see the two photos I've attached!I removed the entire fixture and replaced it with a new LED shop light. Sadly, the bulbs are not replaceable. When they go, I'll need to replace the whole thing! Had my wife NOT seen the smoke, we would have continued to use the light fixture and would have risked a potentially deadly house fire! BEWARE!At this point, I contacted Signify/Philips (not easy! they do NOT want to speak to consumers). A string of emails followed in which I was variously told the ballast was incompatible; the ballast was not incompatible; I installed the bulb incorrectly.NEVER the possibility that the bulb was defective. AND, to date, NO MENTION of providing a replacement bulb at no cost! Keep this in mind before you invest in these bulbs!Signify/Philips wants the bulb back so they can analyze the cause. At this point, having been told conflicting things, I no longer trust the company! I have filed an incident report with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and hope that they will be interested in a product that CAN cause house fires!

Only work in my t8 fixtures not in a t12. GLASS FIXTURES ARRIVED BROKEN 2X. 3rd's a charm
In all fairness, the do light instantly in a t8 fixture even mixed with fluorescent bulbs. That not what I ordered them for. I want to bypass all my failing ballasts and use LED lights that don't need ballasts. This is for garage use. So, I did give them 5 stars for value and easy install (for what they are intended to do). They should have worked in my t12 fixtures, as stated in the description, but they didn't.1. These lights are not for ballast bypass use, aka, direct wired. They do not light at all.2. They do not work in any of the t12 fixtures I tried them in. Most likely they are Magnetic ballasts. They are over 15 years old. Probably more like 20 to 25 years old.3. I'll keep them for future use in my t8 fixtures but they don't work like I intended them to.4. The description does say they are not for direct wire use , but I missed it.5. ALSO, THEY ARE GLASS AND THE FIRST 2 BOXES SHOWED UP SMASHED SO, TAKE YOUR CHANCES. IVE BEEN SENDING AND RECEIVING BOXES FOR 3 WEEKS NOW TILL I GOT A GOOD ONE.
