Grinding stones wear down fast
This is great to have a guide for sharpening the chain but the stones sure wear down fast. So when you need to buy new replacement stones, the best ones to get are the Granberg sharpening stones as reported by other high volume chain sharpeners on YouTube.

Easy to Use
Made sharpening my chain quick and easy. I can’t believe how much better my chainsaw works even when compared to when it was new.

Great Value
Very easy to use and very effective--especially if you've had your chainsaw for 20 years and never sharpened it before!

Works well
A bit pricey for what you get however I was able to sharpen the chain more effectively using this tool than I have ever been able to using a handheld file. Made a huge difference.

Great sharpening tool
It took me longer to read the instructions than it did to sharpen my chainsaw. Great product. Not really a downside, but if you have different size chainsaws like I do, you need to need to change out the shims that may reduce the plastic screw wholes down the road.

Quick and Easy to Use but Reservations
I am by no means a professional chainsaw user but have had the need to remove some very large trees from my garden and resharpening my three chainsaws is a constant task. Originally I used a dedicated chainsaw file. I then purchased a cheap electric sharpener and finally this little Dremel tool. The file works as long as the teeth are not too damaged and is easy to use on site. The electric sharpener does the job better but does of course need a power supply and the chain needs to be removed from the saw so it is rather slow. I hoped that this Dremel solution would be a good compromise between the two methods and it is, with reservations. My Dremel is a mains powered version so I still need power but I can at least sharpen the chains without having to strip them from the saw first. It seems to do a decent job and is not so aggressive to the chain as the electric sharpener. The reason I have dropped two stars is that I am not sure if the bits of metal that are fitted to the Dremel are worth the effort and money. Once assembled and calibrated the idea is that it holds the grinder in the correct position on the chain. I have never had a problem gauging by eye the correct angle for a chainsaw file and using this tool with a line marked at 30 degrees does not really help much (and one of my chains specifies 25 degrees anyway). The tool is also supposed to check depth which is set with an awkward little sheet metal gauge while trying to tighten small screws which are in oversized holes. This seems more like a DIY solution than something from a professional company and needs readjusting if a different tooth size chain and therefore grinding tool is used. The bottom line is that for me it's a lot of faffing about for little return. I found it just as easy to select the correct diameter grinder, lock it in the Dremel chuck and sharpen each tool by eye. Just as I did with a file but with a better and sharper result.Once I discovered that the bits of metal were a waste of space I decided to try the grinding tools in my other make battery tool. Not quite as powerful as the mains Dremel but it still did a good job and had the big advantage that I did not have to find mains power. This confirmed my thinking that the bits of sheet metal and the plastic ring to screw on to the Dremel were not really necessary. Also the kit includes different diameter grinding bits and I guess most users only use one so the others are a waste of money. My conclusion is therefore that the idea of using a Dremel or similar to sharpen a chainsaw is very good and works quite well. This kit however is a waste of time and money unless you are really unsure of your ability to hold the tool on the chain. The grinding bits themselves can be bought separately so for me it is more practical to check the size required (which should be shown on the chain specification as the required file diameter) and buy a set of correct size grinders.I find reviews help my buying decisions. If this helps you please click the "helpful" button so I know I am not wasting my time. Thanks.

Waste of money
As a professional chainsaw user with a license 😩, I spend many along hour on chainsaw maintenance, and sharpening the chain has always been a chore, I’ve owned various electric sharpening devices for use with the chain on and off the machine, I acquired this kit along with a cordless Dremel for a birthday present, while the cordless Dremel is excellent, the sharpening kit is disappointing for 2 reasons , hence the rating, don’t understand the inclusion of 4 different sizes of grinding stone, I’ve never met anyone with 4 different kinds of chainsaw!!!! And secondly the bit of metal that is supposed to set the angle actually only works on a dull chain, if it’s damaged so that it requires quite a bit off some of the teeth, you can’t do it !!! You are better off just getting a pack of the right sized stones and doing it by eye, don’t waste your time and money with this kit.
