Worked exactly how I wanted them to.

I didnt use this as a post base, but for my purposes, it worked perfectly. solid construction, thickness of metal was good, I didnt use the mounting hardware but it was included. Was a little expensive but the powder coating on it should last quite a whil!

These brackets are stronger than they first appear. Anchored to brick for base of a stair railing. Despite the rather thin metal they have proven to be adequate. The 4x4 post they are anchoring is also securely attached to a large porch supporting post about a foot away so this greatly strengthens post at the top and bottom.

These work well and seem to be of good quality, but 1 star off for the extra space between the brackets and pressure-treated 4x4 posts. Not a perfect/seamless fit. Each bracket had about 1/8 inch gap on all sides of posts and it can get cumbersome to balance all 4 sides out when tightening (to prevent one side from being flush and another side from being a full 1/4 inch off). You could probably wrench the provided screws down as tight as possible to squeeze the metal tighter, but you'd still have gaps around the corners.

These were so easy and nice to use on our existing deck that needed new railing. I wasn’t sure if they would be sturdy enough but they are! No give, railing is super solid. They also look nice.

These are good quality, and seem like they will last. They also look very good. The base covers themselves are fantastic. Where they lose 2 stars are the screws provided. After securing all the covers I come back a day or two later and several of the screw heads have just popped off the screws leaving me with an ugly open hole and of course there is a screw still in there so I cannot drive another screw in its place. So for those using these, I would recommend one of two things, either don't tighten the screws all the way, just enough to snug to the cover, or buy some better screws.

Beware of the size of the bases, they fit more the 4” not the 3.5” of a 4x4, I was still able to use them but the paint does chip off when you suck them in.
