Good product. Works well.

We needed some padding and to prevent legs from slipping through gaps in bed rails. This solution is easy to use, super lightweight, easy to fold up and store as we do in daytime, easy to wipe clean, and has the moderate padding effect that will minimize bruises in case of a seizure or bump against the rail. We quickly snap this 48 inch one to cover where 2 rails gap.

The first picture is of the bed rails. Since the Bed Bumper Hospital Pads are not padded enough, I added a loose foam strip (picture 2) and closed the bumper pad around the strip on the bed side of the rails (picture 3). It's too bad there is not more padding for someone who moves during the night into the rails or comes in contact with the rails while being rolled for cleaning or dressing. The product is well made and the velcro works nicely. This would not work for anything other than the 12 inch depth.

Pros: This is super easy to install.Cons: The padding is very thinThe 17” mentioned does NOT mean 17” when installed. It is 8” high installed. So it was not tall enough to cover the bars all the way down. I had to get a 2nd pad to cover the lower portion of the rails and put this pad over the top. I bought this for an epileptic person, but I will need to put something between the bars and pad to make it thicker. This definitely would not protect his head by itself. Think cheap thin Kmart winter jacket material.Edit: we bought some pool noodles to put on the rails and laid this padding over it, and now it’s better. If you bought these pads and have buyer’s remorse because of the thinness, get some pool noodles.

This padding adds another level of security to the bed railing.

I purchased one of these for my mother -in-laws hospital bed, and it was thin like a blanket. I do not recommend purchasing this item.

I ordered these for my mom. Terminal bed ridden patient. These keep people from bruising themselves on safety bars.
