This would not work for a construction project .
I used this item to hold up a board for my flowers to be displayed. They work fine for this.

I purchased 4 of these for holding a garage sale. I had lumber but nothing to hold them up. They are very sturdy and strong. Now of course if you are working on something REALLY heavy you will need to bump up a bit in strength and sturdiness. But I know these hold up to least 100 lbs with no problems. I am really glad I found these because I did NOT want to have to tote around cinder blocks and kill my back for a yard sale. I am very happy with my purchase, and I recommend these.
