Some clarification!!!
Well this is a comment to be fair to the makers and creaters and sellers of this product. First off this log sets flames do adjust but you have to do it with the control knob on the logs themselves. Now the remote control will not control the height of the flame. But if you really are attached to that idea I'm afraid you will be spending about 800 to a 1000. Just really not interested in paying an extra 500 just for one feature. :/ for the money these pretty much have no competition. They heat so well it's unbelievable!!! They have an on\off remote that always work well and a temperature control built into the remote that makes me very comfortable leaving them on all night. And one more comment these thing are packaged so well it's almost impossible to receive a broken log. They are set in styro custom foam that surrounds the pieces. Just a fantastic product!!! ๐ don't hesitate just get a set and save yourself a lot of money!!! Good job Duluth Forge!!! Please do your research on vented and non vented logs. They are totally separate in fuctionallity and purpose. Wanting a set for looks only and wanting a set for heat are very important factors in that decision. Happy logging!!!

Typical chinese quality. CS rather poor. Junk.
Ordered these gas logs Nov. of 2022. One of the logs was broke on arrival, but that didnt affect anything. They worked perfect for about a month and then the pilot started going out daily. The following February I contacted CS and they said to return them after going back and forth for weeks. After boxing everything up it took about 4 months to get some different ones back (without remote). It took another 3 months and about 6 emails and 2 calls to get our remote back. We used the "new" one for a couple weeks without issue for the remaining bit of winter. This winter the logs worked okay for about a week and I'm getting the same pilot light issues. We basically have to relight it every time we want to use the logs. I would advise against these logs and if you do send them back do NOT send your remote. edit: for winter of 2024/25 we daily lit the pilot light and the logs somewhat worked part of the time. They go on and off without warning so I would turn off the gas supply before going out. For the winter of 25/26 they worked for 2 days and now are totally dead which is probably good. The pilot wouldnt work, the remote no longer worked, the control box failed, and quite frankly Iโm surprised our house didnโt burn down. I called CS, and was very nice to the young lady, to see if they would stand behind their logs; they didn't. They flat out said they are seeing a lot of calls related to this model. If you are foolhardy and buy these logs: Keep your box; you will need it to send them back. Don't plan on using these for more than a year and get ready for mediocre CS. Also, buy the extended warranty and don't plan on them lasting past that. It takes months for them to send a replacement (warranty ticking away).

Great fireplace for the price
I bought this to replace a set we've had for about 12 years that needed a gas valve. A new gas valve is almost as much as this is, so I opted to replace it all, and the big box stores were all at least 2 weeks out with brands with less than stellar reviews. Set-up was easy, instructions were very clear. You will need a 3/8" flare to pipe fitting for the gas valve inlet as well as flex pipe to connect between your gas shutoff valve and the gas inlet on this units gas valve. Those are not included. If you dont have a regulator on your tank already for those using LP, you'll need one as well. This unit will run on natural gas as well which is convenient. I like the remote control for this one. My old unit used a wall switch, so being able to control this one from anywhere in the living room is nice. My only complaint and reason 4 vs 5 stars is the artificial logs that come with it. Whatever kind of paint or coating they're covered with does not handle the heat and does burn and turn black after a couple uses, and smokes and stinks very bad. I had hoped the smell would subside after the "new" cooked off but it didnt. Ended up putting the fake logs from our old set in this one to fix that issue. Those that dont have another set of fake logs for it I suggest trying position the included logs out of the direct flames or using only as many as necessary for aesthetics. Other than that we're pretty well satisfied with this setup so far. And just in time as it's been in low 20's overnight the first week we've been using it. Takes the workload off the heat pump and keeps the wife and dogs very cozy.

Works Great!
Came as advertised and finished my first winter and it worked perfect. Not adjustable flame levels (either on or off) but the adjustable thermostat remote works great. 30btuโs will heat it up pretty quick.

Duluth Forge fireplace logs with remote.
I did an extreme amount of research when needing to replace my fireplace logs. I decided on a fireplace set from Duluth. I like the looks of it and the quality behind the name Duluth. AND I wanted a remote control. Iโm tired of watching my husband stagger while leaning into the fireplace to turn it on and off. He almost falls in (weโre old). It was easy to assemble and we were up and running in a short time. I love the temperature setting on it too. I told my husband that we are living like spoiled brats now. BTW: the discount was the clincher. We bought sooner than we had planned. Thanks, God, for giving me the brains to upgrade our life.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT...TOXIC SMELL!!! BUYER BEWARE... Take note of this HONEST review!!!
I rarely write reviews UNLESS the seller is NOT HELPFUL, regardless of when we purchased their product. Purchased this as a replacement of our older unit. * FIRST...it didn't come with everything we needed, such as particular attachments, so the hunt for that wasn't easy. *SECOND...the minute we turned on the fireplace, a horrible smell (instant headache so i knew they were toxic) emitted from these logs and it set off our fire alarms! So we contacted the seller directly and they told us that the flames can NOT come in contact with the logs!!! Whaaaat? So we shifted the logs around accordingly and the alarms didn't go off BUT the smell was so strong and again, instant headache. I CAN NOT have this unit operating, specially with my grandsons, knowing that I could be causing them health issues and harm. *THIRD...We reached out the seller AGAIN (even thought we're outside of our 30 day return window (SO DUMB with an item like this...it's not like buying shoes and you instantly know if they fit or will work for what you need them for) and the seller said, sorry...it's outside of the 30-day-return time frame. *The picture doesn't depict how the logs should be placed. We placed the vertical ones in there for the time being to get them out of the way since they can't be used (flames can't touch the logs...so stupid). So ignore the layout of the logs...just FYI. (AND they really don't look all that great either...nothing like the listing on Amazon). We're without a fireplace now and will look for an alternative brand... Moral of this story: don't buy such items like this that don't come with a great warranty and satisfaction guaranteed behind the product. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!! DON'T waste your time, energy in finding all the little parts from the hardware store that aren't included, and money on something that you can't use. Spend the extra money...might be 3X more than this cost of product, but at least the company will come and install them, and they won't be toxic to your environment. Safety should be the number one concern and this company clearly doesn't care that they put off a toxic smell and fumes.
