ok read
***spoilers little here and there*** It was alright read. I would’ve been finished this book. But I was reading this other series. So now that I’m done with this book. I will say that I kind of liked book 1 better than this one. This one was okay.I was glad that Walsh stepped in though to help Sophia because “Hater Boy” what’s his name 🤔 Scott 😂 < yeah that’s it. Was a horrible human being to Sophia was playing her and everybody knew it but her.You could tell he wasn’t crap from the beginning until half way towards the end. He thinks that he won over Walsh when Walsh actually won in the end he got that deal to play for that team and got the girl. Whereas Scott, lost Sophia and Jewel in one go. He got what was coming to him. Because he hated Walsh for nothing probably fall back when they was a kid. That boy can sure hold a grudge i tell you that…

Characters
Walsh is perfect, yes, but a thing I enjoyed in the story was all of his teammates had distinct personalities even though they weren’t prominent characters. The way the fake romance played out was unexpected and lovely. The last baseball game and what Sophia did to show her support had me swooning like a loon.

surprising
I thought I predicted this book, and I didn’t. I mean the main plot of course, but the details; not one bit. It was refreshing to be wrong about what would happen. If your looking for something with a new spin this would be it!

The Book Deserved the Four Stars, but Sarah Earned the Fifth 🤍
As a dedicated writer, I stumbled upon Sarah on YouTube. I went back to the earliest of her videos and watched from the beginning. After a while,, I caved and bought her first two books. This book was a joy for me. Sure, it's not wildly mindblowing and doesn't hold all the answers to the universe, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Especially for the state of mind that I was in. Four stars for the book, but the author deserves that last star. As an author, I know the struggle of story craft, so any small inconsistencies didn't bother me. Sarah promised a fun highschool romance, and she delivered. I never intended to return to highschool days, but this book made me glad that I did. I read the whole book in around two days because it was simply a wonderful time, and Walsh Hunter is one of the sweetest book boyfriends that I have encountered. Sarah's books (her first one included) got me out of my atrocious reading slump, so now I've read more lately than I have in years. I have every intention to pick up her other books. So, cheers to Sarah Sutton and her lovely work of art! Keep at it, queen, because the only way to perfect a craft is to practice it!! ❤

Enjoyed it!
I read this a while ago and forgot to leave a review on Goodreads after my rating but I have it 5 stars so I must have really liked it. I do really love a fake dating trope especially one involving an athlete. I’ve read several books in this series and liked them all so far. Would recommend

A sweet read
I’ll be honest, lately my reading preferences have been of the dark and dirty variety. But, I came across an Instagram reel from Sarah about this book and it hooked me. So “Instagram made me buy it” and I’m definitely not mad at it. Out of My League is well written and fun to read. Sophia and Walsh are so cute together. Both characters are fun to read and relatable. I loved the fake dating trope with just a hint of enemies to lovers. I cannot believe that this is Sarah’s second book, she’s crazy talented. If you are looking for a true YA romance with all the feels, characters that you will fall in love with, and a bit of that teenage angst the Out of My League is the book for you.

A Fake Romance in a League of Its Own
Sarah Sutton’s latest book, follows bookish, rule-abiding, journalist-aspiring protagonist, Sophia Wallace. As a reader, I am especially drawn towards character-driven stories, where the characters feel tangible enough to walk alongside through the story. Out of My League delivers that story with characters I can invest in, and a plot/world that I can immerse in. Immediately, Sutton opens the book with a slap in the face to our heroine. Rather than building up to a first climax (or first point of no return) about a quarter of the way into the book, that first point of no return hits hard in the first chapter. I appreciated this different take on the traditional story plot, because it quickly captured my interest, watching Sophia’s dream blow up in her face by page three, and I wanted to know how she was going to resolve the issue. Plus, if climax one hits in the first chapter, you really gotta wonder what the pivotal climax will be later in the book. From there, Sutton set up dynamic characters, introducing them with strong internal dialog and exposition, courtesy of Sohpia. The intrinsic network of different names and references really creates a believable high school setting. The relationships and personalities weave together to make for a very authentic platform for the story to take place in. I particularly enjoyed how some characters are exactly what you expect from them, while others are more wild cards. Again, another round and dynamic layer to immerse in. The book as a whole is easy to read. The chapters are average length, and the writing style is not cumbersome. The transition between exposition, internal dialog, and dialog is very fluid. The plot keeps zipping right along from page one, so you’ll have finished the book before you know it! (And maybe kind of hope for a sequel to see where these characters go next? Life after high school? Sarah?) Overall, I would say that this book is charming, well-written, and an enterprising take on a fake romance story, all in a nice little package of 313 pages. I definitely recommend it for an enjoyable read.

loved this story.
This story was really great. It shows great lack of communication between everyone and how if they just talked it would have been so different. The “bad guy” was done perfectly. I am so happy he didn’t have a redemption in the end.

Swoon-worthy YA Romance
Sarah Sutton is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors! This book was phenomenal. I was a little worried around the 80% mark how everything was going to come together but it all worked out so perfectly!I did find Sophia a little immature as a narrator but that's to be expected when I'm an adult reading a YA book. I loved Walsh, though, and the two of them together were great! If you're in the market for a YA Romance, I highly recommend picking this one up!

A lovely romance
This is the second book I’ve read by Sarah Sutton, and being in the mood for something light-hearted, I picked up Out of My League finally, and I wasn’t disappointed! As Sarah’s debut What Are Friends For?, Out of My League has been a lovely YA romance, and the book has put a smile on my face.Out of My League follows Sophia (not Sophie!) as she navigates the summer before the senior year in high school. She thinks that her life is over, and her dreams are crushed when her school cuts the journalism program she loves to put more money into the sports teams, the baseball team in particular. To add more, her boyfriend breaks up with her at the party, with most of her schoolmates witnessing the embarrassing scene. Enter Walsh, who pretends to have a feeling for Sophia. They start (fake) dating, each using the fake relationship to their advantage. The problems arise when they both start realising that there may be something more to this. What I liked the most about Sarah Sutton’s writing, and which was evident in both What Are Friends For? and Out of My League, is how real characters feel. They act and talk like teenagers they are, and sometimes you want to roll your eyes and ask, ‘Really?’ until you remember that a few years earlier you can easily imagine yourself saying or doing something similar. But same as in her debut, in her second book, Sarah Sutton, while focusing on a start of a romance between Sophia and Walsh and all the funny, cute and sometimes uncomfortable moments that endure as a result of their fake relationship, she touches upon heavier topics. Together, the mixture of light-hearted romance and exploration of different family relations brings the narration nicely together in Out of My League.

Adorable
I really like this YA series, and this book was no exception. The storyline and the characters with all their flaws and interactions are reliable. There are a few minor typos and editing issues, but not too many to not enjoy this adorable fake boyfriend romance.

Surely a great way to spend my off time
I am so thankful to the author for making me fall in love with the Romance genre. I usually stay away from it. But this book kept me going, on edge at several points. The way the family dynamic comes into her books- I feel like it's addressing a very important thing. Parents and partners- their two roles to be kept in balance is tough. To understand that and to write it so beautifully is a great talent. Just going in for the next book of her.
