I do some hobby work, disassembling and fixing electronic devices. This pad really helps that work.It has rows of compartments along the top of the mat, which are great for holding screws/bolts that are removed as part of the repair process. This really helps keep things organized and makes it easy to put them back together in the opposite order of how they were taken apart.The unit comes with a plug that - only - connects to the ground plug in a standard outlet. The wire from that plug can easily be connected to the mat and wrist strapMy soldering iron on high was not able to melt this silicon mat! This is a pretty good anti-static mat, certainly good for the money. I downgraded it 1 star because it's pretty small. Great for small items like Smartphones, but I bought it to help with a repair of a MacBook Pro 15" laptop.Other than size, there are pockets for screws and tools in this mat. If I were simply working on Smartphones, I'd definitely buy this again.

If you look at a scanning electron microscope image of the insides of an integrated circuit it looks like a well designed city.Then zap it with one small spark …KABALOOIE!That pretty city you saw before has block sized craters! It looks like Dresden!All you need to do to prevent that is buy and use a proper wrist strap and anti static mat!

I loved the fact that it had plenty of storage areas for different screws and that it came with both a wrist grounding anti-static strap plus a AC plug ground point.Yes, it does smell a little. I see that the instructions say that this smell will go away quickly. Don't know if that is true or not as I received it yesterday and used it today.I used it for a memory upgrade for a 15 inch laptop. It could have been a little bigger, but for what you get in extras and the low price I have no complaints.To sum up it has plenty of storage areas for screws and such, it comes with an anti-static wrist strap, a grounding wire with alligator clips or if they are removed banana plugs. Also it has the AC grounding plug with two banana jacks.All in all a nice product at a good price. I give it a thumbs up.

Protects from static discharge problems. Also good for working with sharp implements . Works as expected

Very good rubber product and durable . I used in replacing ram memory of my computer.. feel safe in doing so
