Easy installation! The kit you're ordering includes an installation tool. A small, flat-head screwdriver. You just use the tool as a mini pry bar to slide the metal clips located on each end of the shock back & forth. You remove the old hood shocks in the same manner, just reversed. The hardware which attaches the shock to the hood is a bolt with a ball shaped portion. Just slide the clips on the shock back away from the shock, then slide the shock (either install or uninstall), then slide the clips back towards the shock to secure in place. Hope this helps.

These struts look to be universal. They fit my 2003 X Type. I believe they will fit an S type too.
