The DMV Vented Scleral Cup is designed to provide a stable platform for inserting contact lenses that need to be filled with lens solution during insertion. This product has an air channel through the handle so it can be automatically released from the lens once the lens has been placed on the eye. Product is not to be used for removal of lenses. Do not use this product with diseased, injured or otherwise compromised eyes. Review: Works great - Works great. A bit expensive but as long as it works and doesn’t fall apart quickly it’s worth it. Review: Hybrid lenses user must have! But at $10 I didn't buy a spare. - It's for hybrid lenses. I had to up my review a star to counteract the other review. The only reason I was going to give it 4 stars was because of the cost. 25 years of contacts from gas permeable to soft. I'm veryyyy experienced. I've always had to wear custom lenses due to the prescription but it's not much different than the disposables all the lucky people get to wear. BTW I have those two for a contact glasses combo. This IS FOR hybrid lenses. They're amazing! But they're difficult to put in despite the fact I'm defininately a pro. Hybrid lenses have a hard center with a soft skirt around the outer edge. They must be completely full of solution to be inserted correctly. If I don't have this tool I've done a three fingertip insertion. It's a hit and miss sometimes. Also no matter how many times I wash my hands and lenses I can get an occasional smudge. Or if I towel dry my hands I'll get microscopic fibers on the lenses. This has solved every problem and is a must have for hybrid lenses. My only dislike was the eye gouging price. I must have accidentally knocked mine into the trash. This is so simple to use and durable that I don't want to call it cheap. But in all honestly it looks like the kind a contact accessorie that would come with free trial lenses and be thrown immediately away. Like a free piece of "junk". I expect it to last longer than a whole package of makeup sponges. But they don't cost $10... Pros: Well made (it just happens to be some kind of inexpensive material) Flexible Sanitary Keeps lenses sparkling clean as there is really no need to handle them much If used correctly perfect insert every time You can actually see them come into focus as you insert them due to the hole through the center If you're unsure of whether you made good contact you can give it a little swivel Cons: Price I don't buy spares because they're $10 each I think a fair price would be $1-2 max so you can buy a multipack. I'd buy 10. I already have a contact laboratory. It's not fair having vision this bad. I haven't paid for these new lenses yet. My last custom soft lenses were already $300 for a year supply And that company couldn't successfully recreate the ones I originally bought which reminded me of plungers anyways after my previous company quit doing custom lenses. It took 15 months, many trials, soft lenses to these and finally these hybrids are amazing. I was considering and dreading going back to hard lenses. If you're stuck with gas permeable hard contacts you should ask about these. I off-road, shoot, and live in a desert where the wind can blow sandstorms. I have 20/20 vision again with hybrids. And this tool is an amazing must have. After all that $10 for this was just another regular slap in the face. I cannot get surgery. My eyes are a -10 and -14. I know that's a lot of info to have but I think people should know what this is and what it's for. I wish it removed them to because it's a bit tricky at times. As long as you don't lose it, it'll last a long time.

Game Changer!
I wear contact lenses mostly for cosmetic use, and as most of you know there is QUITE a learning curve at first when it comes to putting them in correctly. I can't tell you how many times I have had to throw away contacts that have fallen onto my bathroom floor because I could not for the life of me get them to stick to my eyes while trying to apply them. Yes, I know I could sterilize them easily, but I have dogs and children and I was not comfortable with the idea of putting something that fell on my floor back in my eye-but I digress. Enter this magical device! I know it says its for the sclera contacts, but I find the larger surface area makes it easier when applying regular color contacts. This tool provides a solid support for the contact Lense to hold its shape correctly allowing it to stick to your eye effortlessly, allowing me to apply them in half the time! Very simple, but quite genius at the same time. It's definitely worth the cost for the time and the frustration you save. Always make sure to sterilize before and after, and be sure to keep it in a protective case.

Works, but have rounded bottom
The bottom is closed and round which means 1. You can’t set it down on the counter with a lens in it to fill and handle and 2. You can’t see the light coming through which is helpful when trying to line up with eye.

Surprisingly Helpful!
I purchased this in Feb 2024. I’ll admit that I bought it by mistake, meaning, I thought I was buying a plunger to remove contacts - I hadn’t even heard of a plunger to assist with putting contacts in, but I thought, well, might as well try it. I’ll be darned if this thing isn’t SO darn helpful! Before, I was balancing the contact between two fingers and it was so precarious. Full of contact solution, it would often topple over off my fingers and I would have to try again. With this thing it stays really nicely put, which makes it much easier to put the contact in. Now if I could just find a plunger this large to remove the darn things, I’d be all set.
