Solar lights are a great way to get lighting that uses free energy from the sun. Because no wiring is needed, they're easy to install, too. But most solar lights have two problems: First, you have to put them in a spot where there's bright sun for most of the day so the battery gets charged. And second, if the light just turns on when it gets dark and stays on constantly, the light will usually go out after a few hours when the battery runs down. Now, the TFNUO solar lights solves both of those problems. If the place where you want to put a light gets sun during the day, just install the light with the solar panel attached. But if you want a light in a spot that's shady during the day, you can separate the solar panel from the light and use the included extension cord to install the solar panel up to eight feet away from the light. The light can even be in an indoor space while the solar panel is outside in the sun. And because these TFNUO solar lights are motion-activated, they only light up to full brightness when they're needed. That means the charge they get during the day will last much longer than with solar lights that stay on all the time. With their powerful LED lights, motion detector technology, efficient solar panel and the option to install the solar panel separately from the light.Use on:Walkway,Garden,Outdoor,Fence,Patio,Deck,Yard,Home,DrivewaySpecifications:Solar Panel:6V, 0.48W Amorphous SiliconLight Source:10 pcs x 1W LED Light (white light)Lumination:100 lmColor Temperature:6000K-6500KNight Sensor:<10 LuxSensing Angle:120°Sensing Distance:10 ftDelay Time:30sOptimum Install Height:10 ft from the groundCharging Time:8hrsWorking Time:12hrsBattery:900 mAhWaterproof Rating:IP65Package includes:1 x Solar Light1 x Key Pin(to activate light when you receive it)2 x Screws2 x Screw Anchors1 x 8 feet Extended line Cable1 x User Manual

Could be better
These are easy to install. Unfortunately after installing the four of them, I used the key to activate all of them. I waited to check them until they had a full day to charge. One out of the four fails to illuminate, so I tried using the key again. That still did not work. Having a diploma for 4 years of electronics, I decided to do some trouble shooting and found that the to the wire to the led lights needed to be soldered to the circuit board. Fortunately the circuit board was labeled where the wire should have been connected. Poor quality control at mfg, and they should use a lower guage wire. Still I prefer these solar lights over others, because they allow you to mount the light where you want, and then mount the solar panel in a different location where it gets better sunlight to charge the battery.

Would I buy again? I already have!
Love these. Purchased a pair about 1 1/2 years ago, loved them so much, bought another pair. They are very bright, last all night (on the lower non-motion setting and occasionally hitting full brightness with motion), motion sensor works well, and a very good concept by having the solar panel detachable, letting you put light where you need it, instead of where the sun shines. My parents live off-grid and these are perfect for the garage/parking area. I'm going to set the ones up I just got in places that are hard to run power to. Would work just about anywhere you would need an automatic on at dark, motion-sensing light. I'm probably going to put one by the door of my travel trailer, in my carport, over my back door, etc... You won't regret buying these.

Also the distance it detects motion is pretty short, my wife pulling into the garage does ...
It's very blue. Aside from that it does a decent job of lighting up my garage which is what I am using it for. My garage door openers light broke, not burnt out but needs repair. I figured a cheap LED with a motion sensor would be way cheaper than getting the garage light fixed. Drilled a hole in the wall, hooked the solar panel up outside, whole thing probably took 5 minutes to set up. I believe it says it will stay on for 30 seconds without any motion and it seems to go off a little faster than that but I haven't set a timer to it. Also the distance it detects motion is pretty short, my wife pulling into the garage does not set it off and her car is the spot further away from it, maybe 10 feet from the sensor. So, for what it is I'd say it works pretty well, only complaints are the extreme blueness of the light and the short distance of the sensor.

Another great LED outdoor light for a great price.
This is not my first outdoor solar LED light, and will likely not be my last. I bought this to add a light under an overhand leading up to my front door. The location and position of the door made it difficult to use an ordinary LED solar light, so I was thrilled when I saw this version with a detachable base. It was still a little tricky getting the wire to snake around certain corners, but I finally got my spot light above my front door.Interesting note, other LED outdoor light I have a yellowish tint to them, this one has a blueish one. Doesn't bother me, but mentioned it in case you wanted to make sure all your outdoor lights matched. Will purchase another one for my back door once they come out with a bigger version. A lot more space back there that needs illuminating.

These are very cool.
These are very cool. Am I still allowed to use the word "cool" without being looked down upon? I needed a solar light for my front steps, but, the house faces the wrong direction. So, I mounted the solar panel around the corner where it gets plenty of sun. I live walking distance from the beach in Carlsbad, California (San Diego). We get lots of days or mornings where the marine layer just doesn't go back out to sea and they still always have plenty of power even with the lack of direct sun. This was my exact solution to my problem. They are nice and bright.

Package of two. One worked and one did not
The package comes with two lights. One worked fine, as expected, that one gets a 5 star rating.. The other lights up, but the motion detector does not work that gets a 0 star rating.. I waved my hand very close to the sensor and it does not turn on the bright lights. I am sending one back and hope to get a replacement for it.

And at nigth I said LET THERE BE LIGHT
These lights work awesome.....and the extended cord allows for the solar panel to be placed in a more advantageous position. I placed the solar panel in direct sunlight and the light inside a storage room in my barn (threaded the cord through a space in the wall boards) now when I go to the barn at night I am able to see, it lights up the room every time I walk in. The room is about 5 feet wide and 9 feet deep..plenty of light to do what needs to be done.
