Great fun and food with this machine. Difficult to find the right Raclette cheese in Canada, but some stores do carry it. The grill and pans worked great!Next morning, made breakfast: Was surprised how well the flip side (for pancakes etc) worked: amazing!I do have to say that it is more a 4person than a 8person machine. too difficult to grab your little pan if you would be with more than 4-6 people. (little pans are colour-coded so easy to recognize your pan!Other detail: might need to invest in extension cord if you don't have a plug at your table.

Este aparato de raclette funciona perfecto. Lo compre por ser el más barato disponible, quede gratamente sorprendida con la calidad de los materiales, tiene un pequeño termostato para regular la temperatura, no es nada complicada de usar. Cumplió con mis expectativas.

I bought this so I would have a base to put on a cast iron topper I bought separately. The aluminum non-stick will work, but they do scratch and wear out. Cast iron topper is good for a lifetime, you do not have to worry about guests scratching the top, and it's super easy to clean.

We had such a fun dinner with this tonight, 4 of us, which to me seemed better than trying to figure out how to fit 8 people around this thing. It heated up fast, great temperature control. The only thing that gave us a little scare when first turned on was a huge amount of smoke coming from the heating elements. By the time I got it unplugged and grabbed a pot holder to take the griddle off, it had stopped. I am assuming a little piece of plastic might have been left behind when I unpacked it. So be careful with that if you get one of these. Clean up is very easy, griddle and pans are dishwasher safe but I did them by hand anyway. I would also suggest investing in some small wooden tongs for use while cooking on the griddle so that it's not scratched with metal utensils. We didn't need the paddles as everything slid right out of the pans. I kept a small bowl of oil with a brush to add to the griddle top. Everything cooked really well, although we did notice, as others have mentioned, the outer edges and pans are a little less hot than the center. We had no issues with this and just moved things around to accommodate the temperature differences. If you need to use an extension cord, I highly suggest a heavy duty appliance cord.
