This 1978 release is chock full of classic MT harmony. Like so many great recordings of theirs, it mixes vocal jazz with doo-wop and pop. Highlights include an amazing, be-bopping "Four Brothers" vocals work by Jon Hendricks; a unique country spin on Cole Porter's "Love for Sale," and smooth jazz "On a Little Street in Singapore." This was the last recording to include founding member Laurel Masse, who went on to pursue a solo career.

Truly one their best albums with the 4 original members
If you're a fan of Manhattan Transfer, "Pastiche" is a must have. Released in 1978 & produced by member Tim Hauser this is one of the last albums with member Laurel Mass`e before her exit from the group. They go through different styles, something for everyone in this package.Truly one their best albums with the 4 original members. Cheryl Bentyne who was added to the group later was also an excellent addition.

Manhattan Transfer. Can you get enough?
The answer is yes. Four of the numbers on the CD are ones that are used often in their work. And if I had known what was on the CD, I might not have bought it. There are four good numbers, tho', and I like MT very much, so I fast forward the old tunes and go straight to the fresh ones.

One of their best. "Four Brothers
One of their best. "Four Brothers, " "Love for Sail," "in a Mellow Tone," " Je Voulais (Te Dire Que Je T'Attends)" (love Laurel Masse) and my favorite of favorites "On a Little Street in Singapore" (Alan Paul is dreamy - both his vocals and to look at). A gem.

one of the best
This is one of my favorite Manhattan Transfer cd's. It has a good mix of songs from different genres but I'm partial to "A Gal In Calico" and "On A Little Street In Singapore" and songs from the thirties and forties. Having seen the Transfer in concert a couple of times over the years I am a fan.

Great album.
What a great early MT album. The only one with their recording of Gal in Calico, not available on I-tunes

Excellent LP!
I love this album, and have listened to what was my Dad's copy endlessly. I've now bought the CD transfer which seems good at first listen, although I'm not sure if they have increased the echo on some of the vocal - just seems like they have that little bit too much.Doesn't detract too much, but just a bit of a niggle on what is otherwise brilliant.I will likely come back and update this once I have listened to the CD copy further.

MANHATTAN TRANSFERS WELL ONTO CD
I originally purchased this recording when it was first released on vinyl. After seeing it offered at a bargain price on Amazon, I have re-bought it on CD.It transfers superbly which is not a surprise really as the vinyl recordings were very well produced with excellent sound quality. This type of music never seems to date and, after not listening to Manhattan Transfer of late, I am enjoying them all over again.Great listening.

A long sought recording I first didn't know what it was
Had heard the song and liked it immediately but did't know what it was. By accident I came to know the name of it: A little street in Singapore. An immediate action was to order the record. Knew that it was sang by The Manhattan Transfer and have many other recordings of the group from before. Being familiar with the group it didn't suprise me at all the all of the recording is very good. I recommend it to anyone liking The Manhattan Transfer.

Forgotten Vinyl on CD
Forgot all about this album which I have on vinyl I have copied 1 or 2 of my old LPs to mp3 but much better to have a proper digital copy & the smooth melodic sound of The Manhattan Transfer takes me back, I was reminded of it whilst watching an old film so immediately looked on Amazon and there it was and now I can play it easily any time - great!

Chanson D’Mour isn’t on this CD
Nostalgic as I had it in vinyl. Very disappointed as my favourite song Chanson D’mour wasn’t on the CD 😢
