I spooled a couple of reels last year with KastKing Super Power braid and loved it, and came across this when I was about to stock up for this season. I use 15lb braid on most of my spinning reels as well as on baitcasters and this new Bastion braid is excellent so far.I've spooled 2 spinning reels and 2 baitcasters so far and taken them out for a bit of dry land testing in my field (our ponds are still iced over). The braid is thin, strong and supple and spooled beautifully. I've noticed that when I use braid that I found "just OK" I could feel a certain amount of inconsistency when spooling and didn't experience any of that with the Bastion. I didn't apply a micrometer like some reviewers, nor did I bench test the breaking strength but in some informal testing I'm impressed.Last point- I've noticed even with supposedly higher-end braid that sometimes there's dye transfer to my hands when working with the line, and that's usually indicative that the color of the line fades faster. With the Bastion there's no dye transfer so I'm optimistic that this line will be color-fast. Can't wait to get it wet!

This braided fishing line works great. It has excellent color, strength and is super easy to cast! I bought 300yds of 8 lb test in Blue for my ultra light weight fishing rods. The line is thin yet super strong allowing you to have really long casts as it flies through your rod guides with little resistance and zero memory. Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I usually go for the Power Pro brand of braided line, but I needed to re-spool my reel ASAP before a fishing trip. Came across this brand and honestly it is just as good as any other big name brand fishing line. Video is after 1 day of my fishing trip. Held up well, definitely would purchase again. Although the green may have faded very very slightly, or it's the lighting of my desk. Not enough to be an issue. Overall, great product, fast shipping, great price. Now I can buy more lures! ;)

This review is for the 10lb braid in the bright yellow color. I spooled this on a Shimano Stradic CI4+ / Zodias 6'8" ML spinning setup and was pleasantly by its performance. First of all, this is very affordable fishing line, but during actual usage, you would easily mistake it for much more expensive alternatives. Casting distance was excellent and the line was smooth through the rod eyelets. The line color is vibrant and easy to see in the water. A couple times I cast into reeds or brush, but the braid was easy to free from the obstructions. I plan to keep it on this spinning combo throughout the season and will report back if there are any issues in the future. For now, I can easily give it 5 stars.

This braid is superior, which i wasn't expecting because it was so inexpensive. Has super casting ability. Goes far with no backlashes(bird nets). Would recommend highly, I wouldn't wait, this product is sure to fly off the shelves as the weather warms up.

I very surprised by this braid just based on how cheap it is. I put it on a 3000 series reel for swim jigs and it preforms spectacularly. I've been a big fan of 832 for many years, but at almost half the price this line is tough to beat. I've been out twice using this line and it sure seems quite durable pulling the swim jig through thick cover and rocky drop offs. This braid comes off the reel very smooth and straight, I've also not had a single wind knot issue. The only down side is its a little thick and course. But since it doesn't seem to effect the performance on the water I could care less. I'll definitely buy again

Just received my Calamus Bastion Braided Fishing Line and will share my first impression. Visually inspected the line and it looks great. Measured with a caliper and was true to advertised size. .007in for the 15#. Color looks uniform and the spool does not have annoying cuts on the bottom allowing for winding without problems. Did pull test and could not break. Hope that it stands up to some hard fighting Peacock Bass here in Puerto Rico. Overall, I believe that the combination of quality and price cannot be beat. Will update.

This Fishing Line is great. Got an 8lb test spool and was impressed so I just spooled up a new Baitcasting Trolling Reel with 15lb test and can't wait to get to the water. I am definitely going to be purchasing more Calamus Bastion products in the future.
