Can i put preservative in this base for body scrub??

Yes you should because it's a bath type product. Anytime water is involved, you should use a preservative so it doesn't gather mold/bacteria.

Do I need to add glycerin to this or is this all you need to make bath butter?

That's personal preference. It's not necessary. Glycerin was used to produce the product and is an actual ingredient. You may use additional glycerin if you would like becareful of adding too much because it will affect quality. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

Can this be melted and then whipped?

I’ve never melted it. I just whip it with a little grape seed oil and essential oils. Works wonderfully!
