Protect the downside, invest in the upside.
I am a strength and conditioning coach with a taste for data analytics, a big Nassim Taleb fan, and I follow the teachings of Jordan Peterson. So this book is like a dream for me!I am familiar with Mladen Jovanovic and I have been subscribed to his blog in the past, so I was excited when he put out this book. This manual will make you think and question if what you're doing with your athletes -or with your training- is the best way, or at least if you could explore different venues that will bring more upside -while always protecting from the downside! Some of the charts with different training metrics alone made the book price worth it for me. Novice strength coaches or less analitycally inclined people will not get through this book, as it is not a training system or the last magical combination of sets and reps that will burn fat and make you unstoppable. To me this is a positive, as most books on training out there are honestly quite bad and focus on spoon-feeding you the recepe. Now I will start giving the book a second read and using using some of the metrics and philosofies in it applied to the context of my athletes, which is where the real value lies. I am looking forward to the next volume and see what Mladen comes up with. In the meanwhile I will dive into his R package book which looks promising for us strength nerds too.If you have been into strength and conditioning for a long time and you want to question the principles of your training and look for new perspectives, this book will help you. And if you like Gigerenzer, Taleb and Peterson, this is the remaining piece of the puzzle that you needed to face the dragon and the unkwown.

A bible and must have for all strength coaches
I highly recommend the Strength Training Manual by Mladen Jovanović to all coaches! All of the best strength training resources are compiled into this one manual simply and easily. Some of the best works of Dan John, Dr.Matt Jordan and Dan Baker have been integrated into the manual with the practical application and examples. As a new strength coach, I believe this book has given me an unfair competitive advantage of knowledge with all the great content inside. I know I will reference this book for many years to come!I love this book so much that I have bought copies for my friends and mentors because it is so resourceful and saves them so much time and money. What better way to show you care than to buy a resourceful book to help others with their careers!I can't wait for the third volume to come out!

Do not buy this book
This book is useless. Psychotic listing of various rep scenes. As you may know there is infinite possibilities of doing reps and sets. This book is useless and random list of some of them.
