I'm thoroughly impressed with this boat. It said age 14+ on the box, so to begin with I did all the controlling and the boys (6 and 9) watched. However in no time I could tell it was incredibly easy to operate so I handed off to the 9 year old and he does great with it. My 6 year old did ok too, but I would probably recommend age 7 or 8+. This boat has lots of nice features. First the remote. There are 2 speed control settings. The fast speed isn't too bad. I'd say if you're trying to use it in a pool, you'd want the slow speed. We use it in a lake, so the fast speed is no problem at all. You can trim the boat on the remote if it's tracking to the left or right, which is great, but we actually don't find the need to do it much because it's pretty straight right out of the box and doesn't seem to get knocked out of alignment very easily. Sometimes it can pick up some moss if it's close to the surface, but we've always been fortunate that it just kind of falls off when you get it back near the shore. it hasn't wrapped up in the prop yet. Not to worry though, the boat did come with one extra prop in the event of disaster. Battery life is very good. Probably about 20 minutes for each battery. It comes with 2, which is something I appreciate about a couple other DEERC R/C products I've gotten; they really seem to have realistic play time in mind when designing products. There's an audible beep that is very easy to hear so there's no question when it's time to maneuver back to shore. They don't take terribly long to charge either, maybe a couple hours. The self-righting feature is phenomenal. We don't use it much, because the boat really is pretty stable, but when it DOES capsize, the self-righting mechanism automatically does its thing and the boat is back upright within a split second. There must be sensors somewhere that tell it to go. On sensors... NOTE - There is a sensor on the bottom of the boat that must be wet in order for the boat to work. SO if you take it out of the box and put the battery in and try to test when it's dry to make sure it's working, it won't. Just put it in water and it'll pair/work just fine! I'm not sure what more to say. My son loves it, I'll even use it for myself. It's a great toy especially for a lake or small pond. Highly recommend! DEERC made another good one with this.

This boat is really fun to run on a large pond or lake! It runs and turns fast! It does seem to have to be already running in order to turn sharply and not when it is just starting to move. I haven’t tested the self-righting feature, but it hasn’t turned over yet, which I believe is by design. Be sure to keep it away from any kind of shore with plants/weeds at the shoreline. The remote has a trim dial, which can be turned left or right to keep the boat moving in a straight line. There is also a button on the remote that controls LED lights (really cool at night!) and also allows for a figure 8 demo. There is also a speed control dial on the remote. The boat will not turn on until placed in the water and there are slightly exposed screws on the bottom of the boat, which probably completes the electrical circuit to turn the boat on when placed in water. The instructions will provide more details. The silicone bow protector (glad it’s included) is white and might be easily overlooked in the white styrofoam packaging, although the packaging is done very well, keeping all parts safe. The stand is nice and protects the rudder/propeller area, instead of the boat laying directly on a surface when not in use. A screwdriver, extra propeller and a few other small parts are also included, in case they are needed. The only thing that could be better is to include two chargers; one for each boat battery pack (the remote uses 3 AA batteries that aren’t included; the boat uses one battery pack - 2 are included). Customer Service has been patient and excellent! This is our second boat, as the first boat didn’t seem to turn properly (wouldn’t make sharp turns) when the instructions were followed. The company sent a replacement rudder motor, but that didn’t work. Then, they sent a full replacement and the new boat turns properly. Keep in mind that the company may take overnight to respond, due to an apparent time difference. But they will respond and will go out of their way to resolve any issues to the best of their ability!

I really like this boat! It worked perfectly on the lake at our cabin just off the pier! There was very little to no setup required with the exception of charging and installing the batteries in the boat and remote controller. It definitely attracted the attention of the neighbors and boaters who were nearby. In a good way! Product arrived within a few days of ordering. There was some minor cosmetic damage to the box as seen in photo. However, the contents inside appear to be in excellent condition. The boat, remote control, and batteries look very nice. I also like the included stand which is great for displaying the boat when not in use. Both batteries charged up without issue. I must say I really like the idea of getting two batteries included with the boat. Less down time and more fun! Which is something you don't always get with a 'cheaper' product! The boat itself is pretty fast, very responsive to the controls, and handles great in the water. It seems to have quite a far range capability. In actuality when I wanted to see how far away I could take it I had to turn around because I couldn't see the boat very well anymore - not because it was out of range! Its a lot of fun taking tight turns and jumping the waves from passing boats! The boat does best in calm water that is free of weeds/vegetation. The boat was still manageable in rougher water but was BEST on the calmer water found in the early morning or the early evening. At least on the lake that is! I suspect a smaller pond or similar would be optimal conditions at all times but have yet to try it. Overall this is an excellent purchase, especially given the price point! The boat can be enjoyed by people of all ages. So far I have had someone as young as 2 (with some assistance) and someone as old as 60 drive the boat. I don't know who was smiling more my 2 year old son or 60 year old grandpa? 10/10 I would recommend this product to someone who is looking for an affordable way to get on the water for some fun! Hope to purchase other DEERC products myself!

I have used this RC boat twice so far, and my opinion is that this product functions extremely well. I do recommend you take it to a large body of water for proper enjoyment. I first tested it in our pool, and there is not enough space to get to full speed. I did encounter some limitations. The batteries take about 1 and a half hours to charge. You have to watch for grass and other floating items because they can get stuck on the rudder. You should also be cautious of the blade while driving and picking the boat up as it can cut you while running. In addition, the backup feature is slow; you can barely turn while using it. Despite this, it is a fun boat. After the first charge, the batteries each last about 20 minutes, using the boat at full speed. At lower speeds, each battery lasted about 30 or 40 minutes before running out of charge. The controls are easy to understand. It comes with a stand that can be snapped together or taken apart to save space or for transport. It has a low battery warning that is two beeps, repeated every couple of seconds. Best of all, the top speed is about 15 mph and it turns quickly. The easy turns and quick acceleration make for an excellent driving experience. Overall, this is an amazing RC boat.

Just took this boat out for the first time and we’re really impressed. It’s fast, turns on a dime, is easy to use for all ages, and super fun to drive. A couple things I really like: -Pistol grip remote – This is the same type of remote used with almost all RC cars. My kids have RC cars and were able to figure out how to drive this boat immediately. The remote has a nice, quality weight to it and a heavy bottom so it can stand up on its own without tipping over. A lot of other boats have the older variety remote and my kids don’t seem to get that as quickly which means they’re always turning the wrong way. -High and Low Speed – Gotta have it! There’s a button on the remote that toggles between high and low speed, and this is so crucial for beginners. You don’t want to hand this to someone who’s never driven an RC and they go full throttle into the beach rocks. Low speed helps them get a feel for turning and controlling. -Water-cooled motor – Keeps it from overheating. -Fairly large battery – For this size boat, the 1200Mah battery keeps it going for around 15-20min, and they also provide a second battery included. -Silicone Safety Nose – There’s a silicone cap that goes over the front nose and you’ll probably think, “What’s this for?” But when you crash it head first into the bank a few times you’ll understand. I’m sure the manufacturers had received a lot of customer service inquiries regarding broken noses, so they included this soft cover that I think will probably make the boat last a lot longer. -LED lights – There’s a couple red lights on the back, like tail-lights, and a blue light on each side. You can turn them on and off via the remote. Might be fun to try at night. -Battery warning buzzer – Let’s you know it’s time to come in to shore so you don’t have to swim out and retrieve it after it runs out of battery. Overall, a great boat, well-made and fun to drive, and a great price.

This RC was very fun. The battery life was acceptable for this price point. The remote was easy to use and responsive to every touch. I recommend only if you want to have fun.

I bought this for my son for Christmas and what a blast. This boat is super fast and very easy to control. The quality is great and set up was easy. The battery life is great on a charge and the remote is very easy to operate. This boat will provide hours of fun for you and your kids.

First off, I have owned a variety of RC vehicles over the years, and one of them is the DEERC H120 RC Boat. After getting that model I was eagerly awaiting for DEERC to come out with another boat... BOOM... The DEERC 2008 has landed and it is just as great as the H120 with the addition of LED lights on the boat and an even nicer controller. You get 2 speed options which will be nice for kids/beginners to start off on. The higher speed is much more fun and quite manageable. The 2008 is fast, nimble, easy to handle, water tight and quite durable It performs exactly as described and having the 180° flip feature (in the event you capsize it) is a great feature to ensure you won't have to go swimming for it. Battery life was as described (got around 15-20 mins out of each battery), and that was running at full speed the entire time (as shown in my video). I recommend investing in a couple extra batteries to give yourself plenty of running time (just make sure to let it rest between battery changes as it is described in the manual, since this will help it stay running in tip top shape). The battery warning feature on the controller is very audible and gives you plenty of time to get the boat back in so it won't get stranded. Bottom line is that I would buy this boat again and highly recommend it.

Fantastic! Nice speed, good controller (except the terrible beeping that starts when the battery is running low), good battery time on each battery. All and all good. - There’s a few drops of water inside the boat after each run. Even when everything is sealed shut tight. Eventually this will ruin the boats electronics.

Super Teil! Unsere vorherigen Boote hatten alle Schwächen. Entweder mit Wasser vollgelaufen, eher langsam oder sehr kurze Reichweite (ganz toll wenn sich das Boot 20m vom Ufer nicht mehr rührt). Das alles macht dieses Boot aber prima. Es ist schnell, wenidig, geht nicht unter, richtet sich automatisch wieder auf und hat eine so große Reichweite. Hatten noch nie einen Verbindungsabbruch, obwohl man es schon befürchtet hättet, wenn der Kleine mal stur geradeaus auf den See rausbrettert.

My 10 YO son had five outings with it before it broke. The hull leaks water into the battery and motor. Was good while it lasted, he did have fun with it, but €80 for one week is a bit steep.

Super produit, les pièces importantes sont en métal, il y a une hélice et son écrou de rechange. Il y a toutes les pièces essentielles en pièces détachée au cas où. L'autonomie est de 18 minutes par batterie ( 2 de fournies) en vitesse maxi! Il est très rapide, très maniable, un vrai régal. Les 2 leds rouges à l'arrière et 2 bleus sur le côté donnent un look sympa. Très facile à piloter même à 6 ans et amusant aussi pour les adultes!
