Good outlets
I used this to replace a single outlet that was developing intermittent connections in an old car.The backplate here was sturdy and provided a better mount than the old one.Good product.

Custom Accessories 10242 Auxiliary Twin Power Outlet
I've found this to be a decently made dual 12V DC power outlet unit for the price. I have it permanently mounted in the back of my truck inside the cap and use it to run things like my 12V air compressor and hand held spot light, which are both under the 15A max rating for the receptacles. The two receptacles are totally encapsulated within the molded black plastic body to keep dust and moisture out and there are two 6" long 14-gauge copper supply wires that exit the rear of the sealed body. The unit is compact and measures approximately 3-1/4" Wide X 1-3/4" Deep X 2" High overall. There is a molded-in mounting flange on top with two pre-drilled holes for the screws included. The two black rubber receptacle covers are tethered so they don't fall off and get lost. Considering what I paid for this little unit here on Amazon, I think it was a good value and would definitely buy again if needed.BTW: I used a small piece of plumbers sand cloth to very lightly scuff the interior surface of the 12V receptacles before I installed the unit to give the plugs a little more retaining grip and help keep them from backing out from vibration during use.

Works well
We've been doing some pretty crazy upgrades on our tree stands for deer hunting. One of which has been to add power to them. Specifically solar panels attached to small lawn tractor/boat batteries. What do we do with power up in tree stand? Well I've wired in some LED lighting both white and red so that I can get set up more easily in the dark and I added a set of these 12 volt power ports so that I can charge my phone and kindle while out in my stand all day. These ports work quite well for my needs. I was able to easy screw the assembly into the 2x2 framing of my stand through the two screw holes and attach the wires to a wiring harness I rigged up to the battery in my stand. Using a couple of 12v DC to USB adapters I was able to charge several devices at a time. The adapters stayed in the ports without needing to fuss with them and had clean contact the entire time I've used them. The covers over the ports help keep the ports clear while I'm away from the stand. So mounting was a breeze, wiring was easy, and they work. Can't complain.

Perfect for OUR application...
The reason that I capitalized the "OUR" in the title is that I wanted to emphasize that for the application that "WE" envisioned it, and "I" installed it for it was exactly what "WE" needed. We only needed a couple extra outlets so that we could plug in the AA/AAA battery charger, and a couple other 12v items. We already have TWO splitters on the front lighter socket, giving us 3 outlets, but they are kludgy and in the way all the time, so I wanted to relocate some of them to the back of the coach section, no problem, I am installing a whole new converter/charger, and with it I am rewiring the last 26 years of "spaghetti in a blender" wiring, and this was one of the first upgrades that made the bill. Overall it looks to be a very sturdy product. It has 14 AWG stranded wires permanently molded into the housing, which is great as the rating of the sockets is 15A, anything higher in AWG would render the sockets themselves as major failure points. So be sure to follow the instructions and INSTALL NO LARGER THAN A 15 AMP FUSE, or you may just end up with a melted wiring harness at best, a fire at worst......

weather resistant
Mounted on my tractor underneath the canopy to keep it out of the weather I can connect any type of accessory with the same connection.I connected my "cigarette lighter" volt meter to monitor my charging system but the outlet doesn't seem to maintain adequate contact to the plug. The same voltage meter works just fine in my pickup truck but will not stay consistent while connected to this power outlet. The volt meter shows a less than full current flow until I press the plug into the socket and hold it there then it reads correctly. The accessories that I have plugged into this outlet seem to work without issue. It works well enough that I give it 4 stars. The housing is heavy polymer and should hold up well. The rubber outlet covers are adequate yet they can be easily lost if care is not taken when removing them. The little rubber retaining rings only do so much .

Wiring color reversed.
Used it to plug in a 12v fan in RV. Wired the outlet with the red wire as positive, discovered the fan polarity was reversed. So, flip the color idea around, red is negative as indicated by the connectors.

So much powerrrr!!!!!
The plastic housing is thick and sturdy. It has mounted well and taken a few hits that left no noticeable damage. The sockets seem to be slightly oversized. I had to pry the contacts out of the plug going into the outlet in order for it to hold securely. And one thing to be mindful of is that if you wire this straight to the battery a fuse should be used and it will never turn off on its own unless you hook it up to a switched power source. I didnt like that there was terminals already attached to the wiring. I had to cut them off which made them that much shorter than they already were.Overall a great well built product though.

Works when paired with correct cig USB adapter(s)
Had trouble originally with cheap plastic lightweight USB adapter. Ordered nicer, heavier, metal USB C adapter to plug into this (shorter as well) and it worked great. Would buy again.

Great for Hiding Wiring
I've bought two of these now to hardwire into a few friends vehicles in concealed locations under the dash. That allows for GPS units, backup cameras, or other devices to be connected without wires all over the place and in a very discrete way. They work well and I have no complaints.
