Paper Pages Publishing Ltd Kind Hands Don't Hurt

My son has had a challenging time learning to use gentle hands, this is one of three books we read on repeat in our house. It’s definitely made an impact.

Bought this for my youngest grandchild who started hitting and biting. We all have taken turns reading the book to him and it seems to have helped. And best part was his sister read it to him too.

Kind Hands Don’t Hurt is a fantastic book for children. I bought this book for my son aged, 4. We read it together and It was heart warming to hear him read back to me.The font size is perfect for young readers, it enables them to use their index finger to point to each word. Moreover the repetition of the phrases in the books enables children to read fluently as they are able to quickly recognise familiar key words e.g kind, hands etc...Moreover, what I love about the book is the fact that it’s has been designed with the child in mind. For example, some pages are dedicated to the child, they can write their name or do an art piece and this was a fun activity to do with my son, although he wanted to rip the page and stick it to the wall (which I didn’t want him to do; as we’re book lovers, in our home, pages need to stay in the book!) That said, a pullout page- similar to a poster (located at the end of the book) would have been useful to give parents and children the choice of either keeping their art work in the book or to display it.It’s 10/10 for us.

I bought this for my son who was having a problem hitting his peers (3 years old). Within a week, he was reciting the words of the book and stopped hitting his friends. Highly recommend.

Not one of my favourite books, as dull to read as an adult, and not especially well written in terms of flow of the book or tempo, HOWEVER the repetition in it seems to have more or less worked, as I'm now getting smacked in the face much less often by my 14 month old. Really that's what what I was bothered about.
