This thing had paid for itself already in the 4 months I've owned it. Exceptional distance, you have plenty of time to question if it's a legit speed trap or a false alarm, and still have plenty of time after deciding that it's real to slow down. The GPS mute memory works great for all the false alarms along the way (fire stations, Dollar General store alarms, hospitals, metro stations etc.) that you drive by every day. You can mute the alert and it saves it so you never have to worry about it the next time you pass. Takes a bit of setting up but within a few weeks you'll have all the false alarms muted out so if it does go off, you can be sure it's a legit trap.Best detector I've owned, it's a great unit without having to spend $700+ for an ultra high end unit, and I actually trust this thing to keep me out of trouble 100%.I did not use the suction cup mount that comes with it, I found an aluminum clamp mount for the rear view mirror that is 100 times better, it's permanently installed to my car and hard wired into the mirror for automatic on and off (search mirror tap).

This is the second one I bought. It’s a great detector at a very good price. Has saved me everyday for over 10 years.

Bought the hard wire kit with the rear view mout let me tell you this thing is worth it. The accuracy is amazing as someone who drives for work this thing can see them wayyyyy before I can. Definitely saved my butt a few times.

The detector has greater range of detection and less falsing.

After 2.5 years the speaker went out. Kind of light unlike my Max 3 seems more durable. However the R9 cost half as much as the Max 3 and works just as well if not better. Cons No intergraded internet

Nice overall unit - comes complete with hard shell pouch and the BLK edition (which i believe to be an Amazon exclusive is IMO a much better looking unit. Unit has good detection range and GPS locks on fAST. ONLY wish that directional arrows become a standard feature in the this price range of detectors.

Just make sure to read the manual or watch a review on YouTube so you understand how it works. Definitely recommended, easy to use and works really good. I know 5 people who own this same model and never heard any negative feedback from them so I got one.

I bought this for my cross-country trip from San Diego, CA to Ann Arbor, MI.It did a great job – of detecting radar speed signs (k-band ~24), I mean most of its alerts are the same band around ~24.Other than that, its ka band alerted twice. One of them is a police car pulling over another guy, the other I never saw the police.However, I saw at least 5 policy cars, either on the side of the highway, or hide under the bridge, or on the bridge above the highway, and the alarm did nothing. Luckily I am not an aggressive driver so I wasn’t got ticketed or anything.Overall I am very disappointed about this product. If you want a speed radar sign detector, you would love it. Otherwise not so much. A good waste of $200.
