All the performance I've come to expect from POR15
I recently ordered some powdercoatedcalipers for the front and rear of my son's BMW Z3. The fronts came quickly but we waited several for months for the rears to come back into stock before we gave up and cancelled the order. That left us with buying plain calipers and looking around for a shop to powdercoat them. The prices we got were insane, so I thought of painting them. To my surprise, POR15 has high temp caliper paint. I have used other POR15 products for 20 years and always had excellent results, so I purchased this and gave it a try.I didn't use their marine clean or metal ready prep, just disassembled the calipers, washed and scrubbed with brake cleaner, and painted. After applying 3 thin coats and one thick finish coat, I ended up with calipers that look almost spot on to the powdercoated appearance (in photo, the larger top 2 are powdercoated and smaller bottom 2 are POR15 painted. It had great adhesion, produced a bright, shiny finish that is super hard. I'm certain the performance and durability of this product will match the other products like chassis black and top coat that I have used from them in the past. Super pleased with the results.

Shockingly good paint. Also, trust me, you only need 1 can.
Full disclosure, I bought this paint as a meme because I was doing unnecessarily fancy brakes on a car that absolutely did not warrant it and I wanted to go the extra mile. I chose POR-15 specifically because I had heard exceptionally good things about their paint regarding rust repair and I figured that it'd be the best shot at making some rusty crusty (slightly fried due to an incident) calipers look nice, and oh boy did it deliver. I also didn't wanna use spray paint because overspray was a concern and because i've never had good luck with spray paint being durable. This stuff dries *incredibly* nicely. It's pretty thick out of the can even after mixing. You'll need 2 coats to get a good finish but it's worth the effort. A few notes:- Beware going too thick. It'll drip.- Cheap brushes will get obliterated by this (bristles get plucked out easily). Don't go too expensive though because you aren't gonna be able to use them after this paint unless you've got some exceptional paint remover. Maybe some cheap synthetic bristle ones or something.- The first coat will look thin. Don't pass judgement until the second coat is done, because it does some truly magical stuff regarding self levelling and becoming opaque as it dries.- This paint goes far with little. I've only used about a third of the can over 4 calipers x 2 layers each.- You don't have to go insane with prep work if this is a lazy low effort "on-car" job, just make sure you clean it with degreaser (even brake cleaner works) and knock any rust chips loose. Beware sludge.Anyway in short, buy this if you don't know what to get for caliper paint.
