It didn't come with instructions, but after a minute I figured it out. In the photos it looked like it was mounted to the hinge of the rear door, but it wouldn't have fitted a flag pole if I'd done that. However, once I found the right spot, added some threadlocker and tightened it down, it was very sturdy. One note, this kit comes with an allen wrench that only fits the small bolts. It is also a somewhat soft metal, so I recommend using a higher quality tool to install this mount.

The plastic rings present on the pole need to be of metal & carabiners are weak.

This flag pole holder is really awesome. It fit perfectly on my 2020 JL Wrangler. I did have to get help from a friend at an auto body shop to install it as the T50 was too small and the original bolts were still under the paint coating. It held up nicely for the summer use, is sturdy and solid. Overall a good buy and alternative flag pole holder vs. using the hitch. Super glad I purchased it!

Including a bolt that fits a JK does not make anything else suitable to a JK. If you added the small tubular shim outside of the plastic hinge shroud, you'd have a void behind your plastic around the bolt and the plastic would be stressed under the pressure of the screw and would not secure the hinge to the door. I tried it without the plastic shroud with ridiculous results in the picture. The holes tapped in the tube are threaded sloppily and the thumb screw wiggles in the threads. I'd have zero confidence in this product as is, but I will tap and thread new holes, as well as engineer and machine my own solution!
