Capresso CleanGrind Grinder Cleaner

I cleaned my expensive OXO grinder that quit working in just a month. It died just after the return window expired. It now works flawlessly but only with light roast coffee. I am very displeased with the grinder but so glad I can clean it and restore it to functionality. I use medium roast coffee so I will be cleaning it frequently.

I have cleaned the grinder a number of times. Takes forever (like 20 minutes) and is never super clean. I ran this through, inspected and was amazed. All the dust and oil was gone. Sorcery. Run a few sacrificial beans to clean out the grind cleaner and good to go

I have a coffee maker with a burr grinder. The coffee I buy tends to be fresh and because of this it is still sort of “oily”. After a month of using my new coffee maker I heard it start to struggle when grinding. I figured I the grinder was plugged up needed to be cleaned. Problem is…..the manufacturer sealed the grinder on my coffee maker. I was kicking myself for not seeing this until I did some research and found this grinder cleaner. It works exactly as advertised. Supposedly the residue from this stuff won’t hurt you but I ran a little coffee through after using it to clean the stuff out. The result was a happy burr grinder and great fresh ground coffee. This little jar is the cheapest on Amazon, but you don’t get very much. Next time I am going to get a larger amount from someone else making my purchase cheaper per ounce. I plan to clean my grinder once a month going forward.

Good grief. I thought my Capresso burr grinder was broken. My daughter, who worked at Peet's Coffee, tipped me off to this product. It was more expensive than the commercial stuff, but I didn't need to buy in that quantity. The miracle occurred so quickly. I used about 40-50% of the amount in the container, which was probably overkill. It immediately went to work. I turned the dial and - boom - the white powder was coming out. I am delighted. I won't need to use this again for some time. I'm glad I didn't buy too much.The burr grinder itself might be almost 10 years old. I will probably get another decade out of this thing.

Does a great job.

I was expecting more, but this really just grinds some inert material and cleans the burr area. I can do the same thing with a brush and a paper towel. I think dry rice might work just as well, but I have not tried that.

I was skeptical at first regarding the price and such a small container, but cleaning options for a burr grinder are limited and we drink a lot of coffee. That said, it definitely does the job of getting the oils out of the mechanism without threat of harm to the burrs. You can definitely tell the difference in the coffee once the grinder has been cleaned, so this is a worthwhile buy.
