Product good, but be careful with combining orders
First I'll list the positive's of this order. I like the subscription service as it helps me stay stocked up on my pets food when I'm busy with other stuff. Also my dogs like this food and it's a great price. What I don't like is having it come in a way oversized box that was combined with an subscribed order of a 24 bottles of protein drinks that broke open in box. Shipping method is stupid. I found a way to get my drinks sent separately by changing the delivery time. Since I had done the subscriptions at the same time everything was combined but if I change the delivery period on one of them. Then i can get them sent separately hence no more problems of numerous bottles jostled around the box of dog food. Also I found the boxes arrive in better shape when they're sent separately. In conclusion I'm a fan of the subscription service as it's a huge help and time saver to me when I'm distracted on projects.

He Loved It.
The media could not be loaded. Hugo loved this. That's him up above.I can't comment on the taste, because he apparently thought it was some kind of secret recipe, and chose not to share that information. Let's just say that Mastiffs are drooly to begin with, but but when they love their food, the drool goes to a whole new level. Think Ghostbusters slime. Hugo delighted in sliming anything and everything after a bowl of this. He wasn't shy about farting, either. I'm guessing it was his way of showing appreciation, like how some people in other cultures belch as a compliment. He had his own cabinet in the kitchen, which he could pull open with a rope, and he would dip in and out of there during the day as needed for snacking (don't we all?). Once, I didn't realize he was in there nibbling and I went to get my own snack. Jackie Robinson could not have bested me as I slid into home base (AKA the kitchen trash bin.)Bit my tongue almost clear through, and as I collected myself, spitting blood, Hugo politely surfaced from the kibble bag, winked at me (I SWEAR), and took another deep dive into the bag. Priorities, you know?Sometimes he would trot over and put his slobbery head on my knee, and there would be a teeny tiny bit of kibble suspended in the stalactite of drool, he would realize it, and throw his head back to sling the slimy kibble down his gullet...much like you or I would catch a potato chip.We had taken him to the vet because he had started yelping and screeching in the middle of the night, and nobody could figure out what was wrong. He was ok during the day, but started to be reluctant to use the stairs. The vet checked his hips - perfectly healthy. Poked and prodded unceremoniously but without complaint (and of course rewarded with some pocket kibble we brought just for the occasion.)They threw everything at him - steroids, pain medicine, bellyache medicine, you name it. A special, super expensive prescription diet that was supposedly all the rage among canine taste-testers. He turned his nose up and would have nothing to do with it. He went on strike until his senior dog Nature's Recipe was back in his custody, back in his cabinet. One night I woke up to hear what sounded like a car breaking suddenly to avoid a crash. It was sharp and prolonged as if on a wet road. I looked outside - nothing. It happened again. Poor Hugo was in the living room screaming. Nothing seemed immediately wrong. I could touch every part of him without him jerking backward. It was impossible to tell where he was hurting! I gave him his pain medicine, and thankfully, he slept well. The next morning we were getting ready for the vet visit. He was better, but we needed to know what was going on. He must have known. He refused to leave until we let him pull his Nature's Recipe out of his cabinet. He cried going down the steps, but he didn't let go of the bag. He must have known. Is that possible? The vet said he had a brain tumor. We had to make the kindest choice for him. We would not let him suffer in order to squeeze a little more time with him. He suddenly lost the use of the right side of his body and slid down onto a soft dog bed. The vet did some tests and said he could not feel the right side of his body. It didn't hurt him, he didn't pull away when she pinched his toes, no reflexes - he just didn't feel it. So why was he whimpering? Not the screaming that he had done during the night, just little plaintive whimpers. Call me crazy, call me whatever you want, but I ran out to the car and brought his Nature's Recipe bag to him. He stopped crying and and tried to eat a few bites of his beloved kibble, but the right side of his jaw wouldn't work. So he just held the kibble in his big maw like it was a Life Saver. I suppose he knew he was dying. I suppose he thought he could take his snack bag with him, where-ever he thought he was going. All I know is that he was in his happy place, slobbering over his kibble. Maybe in that sense it *was* like a Life Saver. I pretend that he was proud of himself for remembering to bring the food with him. The vet helped him on his way as I held him. This Nature's Recipe was the last thing he ate, and he made sure of it. When his beautiful eye lashes fell and he closed his sweet eyes, we knew we had come full circle. The vet said that it was just because all his muscles finally relaxed, but he punctuated the scene with a big blurby fart. I like to think it was his final expression of kibble delight. The video is his last trip to the vet. Instead of crying, he enjoyed the wind and relaxed knowing that his NR kibble was right next to him.

No more multiple HUGE stools. No more gas. Great food.
I've been using another brand of dog food for several years for my lab and 3 small dogs. A good no grain brand. Recently on impulse I decided to change from that brand of senior to this brand as it is comparable in price. I never could understand why my lab had such huge stools and so many of them since I've never fed him large portions. And, he always had a lot of gas. After about a week on this food, we've noticed a big difference in the size of his stools, 1/3 to 1/2 the previous size and not as many of them. And, he has not pooped in the house at night at all. Once in a while he would go to the towel by the back door and do a huge stool at night after having 2 or 3 during the day. I just wish it hadn't taken me so long to "get a clue". And, he stopped having gas. So, I'm out nearly 100.00 for gas busters pills that he no longer needs. I am sticking to this brand now for all my dogs and am very pleased. I'm ecstatic. I want to shout it from the roof tops.

Good brand, just not for my dogs
I have lots of older dogs and although they all seemed to like this brand, it messed with one of their's digestive tract. Good product, good value overall. Just not for my doggies.

One of the best. Our fur baby really enjoyed it
Our older dog has really enjoyed this product. Easy on his teeth, easy to swallow, & I guess the flavor was really good cause he’d really go for it . We think it’s on of the best on the market 😉Sadly … a couple of days ago , old age finally caught up with him( We’ve had him since he was a puppy, for 17.5 years), so we reluctantly had him ‘ put down’ . 😢 It’s tough seeing the storage unit halfway full with his food …with him no longer here to enjoy it 😔In the future … when we get another dog… we plan on purchasing your products again… if the dog is a puppy, or adult. Thanks for being a part of helping him thrive …until he had to say goodbye 🥲 😌

Great for my senior dogs
I’m very impressed. I have 2 senior dogs-one with Cushing’s (and has now developed some kidney issues) and the other has become a VERY picky eater. I’ve tried numerous foods and this one really has been the best for both. I specifically ordered this for our large male with Cushing’s disease because a few Internet reviews said it would help with kidney function. Since switching, there has been no more overly frequent urination, excessive water drinking, or vomiting in the house. The best part? I know that they LOVE the flavor because even my picky female who turns her nose up at everything now is bouncing like a Mexican jumping bean at meal time. I’m so happy that we found this food at an affordable price and we will continue to buy.

Great price - Great food - doggo approved
Got this for such a great price at about .79 a pound! I try to buy only quality while keeping by-products and empty grains to a minimum. To get below my budget of $1 per pound while also getting a great brand I know and like was awesome. My corgis and treeing walker hound approve! This is what they had to say:"O mai goodness, thiz iz all teh nOmz!. Can we haz more? if u want honest feedback, we ned 2 try more. Like, at least a bag in thiz 1 sitin'. Yes, that soundz rrite"
