Great unit
Great unit, but interferes with heatsink placement over CPU. Don't forget to turn on the tiny switch on the board that control the fan aimed right at the cpu - no temperature problems for me with that on.

Easy to install, works great!
I installed this for my Raspberry Pi 4b running Pihole to free up an outlet. It works great, doesnโt get crazy hot, and seems pretty reliable. Would purchase again.

Works as expected
Assembling the hat is fairly straightforward. There is a switch to turn off the fan, but I don't think it is loud enough to be much of a bother. Especially since I expect most people would have this near the network switch providing the PoE. Once installed, there is nothing you need to do to configure it further. Just plug in your Ethernet cable, and it starts to boot. The hat does not fit well with the Canakit case I have my pi in. I am not going to deduct a star for this because it is more the fault of the case than anything. If you are looking to add PoE for your pi I would say this is a great way to go.

Overall - recommend
Great POE hat that provides plenty of power for other stacked hats/drives. The fan did become noisy after a few months, but it was easy to replace. Bought a 4 pack of fans on amazon for 7 bucks to address the fan.

Great little POE hat!
This works perfectly with my Pi4. All the little pins fit and match up perfectly It allows me to clean up my networking rack by getting rid of another power adapter. Now my little Pi4 Adblock/DNS server fits on a rack shelf with nothing but a single network cable connected. All the hardware to connect and mount it is included. I also appreciate the little fan on it to help cool the CPU. The fan is much quieter than the one in my old pi case.

Exactly what I needed at the right price.
Works great right out of the box. Fit my Raspberry Pi 4b with no issues The gpio pins are a bit tall at their normal length, so this makes it a little tricker to place inside of a 19โ rack slot but I found that assembling it on the other side to work just fine. Provides more than adequate power and cooling. Keeps my Pi happy at 40C with no heatsinks and running an adsb service 24/7 with a m.2 directly underneath of the SBC.

Works with Pi 5 for easy Power.
The Waveshare Power Over Ethernet HAT is easy to install and performs exactly as described. I set it up on a Raspberry Pi 5 even though it is not the primary model listed, and it works well on that board too. Installation was simple and everything functioned as expected once connected.

Great for non-standard applications.
This hat is fantastic if you need a non-standard setup for your PI. I'm using this in an all sky camera that's running on a PI, powering a camera, and some other electronics. Some of which need a 12v supply. This hat provides that without needing anything extra, which make's it the perfect solution for my application.

Keeps temps low
So far so good. Bought as part of a ADS-B feeder to power a Raspberry Pi. Works great! Allows me to power the Pi over ethernet cable, thus eliminating the requirement for a dedicated power source and extra cable. Has been keeping the mainboard cool and within safe operating limits.
