Routledge Ensemble Theatre Making: A Practical Guide

This book is my absolute go-to for any sort of collaborative process. Before casting a show, evaluating acting entry auditions for college programs (SUPER helpful here !!), or entering the rehearsal room as a collaborator in a different capacity, I grab EMT and remind myself of its core principles. It offers a range of exercises, flags that range from Green to RED to look out for in a selection process, and helpful and often amusing personal experiences from the authors are all written in an accessible style and tone that can be hard to find in other theater texts. And don't let the title or my headline fool you: though the book is through a theater lens, the archetypes are universal and could be helpful in any setting where two or more are met. Cannot recommend enough!

Wonderful book. Great exercises to creating a cohesive student group

Engaging and filled with practical ideas. This is a must have. I have already started applying ideas from the book to my improv coaching.
