Very sturdy, well made and great paper. Good price. I was buying cheaper ones and they fell apart.

I’m in love with this notebook, very good material.

First, the bad news: the pages do not tear out cleanly or evenly along the scored line designed to tear pages out. I had the best luck tearing the entire page from the spiral and then folding (back and forth) the scored line and then tearing to get the cleanest edge. The best notebooks with the tear-away scored line feature are Five-Star Five-subject notebooks from Mead which is why I was surprised to find that the pages of this Cambridge Business Notebook made BY MEAD performed poorly in the tear-away area. I imagine that a business setting would require less tearing-pages-out than a school setting, but if you as a grown-up business person needs to tear out a page, be advised that the procedure will be a little bit awkward.Good news! Everything else is awesome! The cover is sleek and the gold-tone logo with matching gold-tone spiral are lovely touches. I didn't see this specific model of notebook in any color other than purple; there is a black one that is similar but not quite the same. This particular notebook has horizontal lines running the entirety of each page in contrast to the other Mead Cambridge notebooks I viewed on Amazon--each of those had a left-margin line running down the left side. I like the non-margin-line version as it doesn't look like high-school variety notebook paper. If you like perfect margins on the left, then you'll miss that in this notebook. A nice surprise is that the lines in this notebook are purple! The lines match the cover! NOTE: if you are considering this notebook for school use, check with your (or your child's) instructor as some instructors frown on pages without the left-margin line or with unconventionally colored lines like the purple ones here.The spiral is sturdy and curved in enough that it won't snag clothing, table edges, etc. It shouldn't get un-spiraled either--the wire is strong enough to hold its shape.I tested a king-size Sharpie marker, a medium-tip Sharpie marker, a fine-tip Sharpie marker, a Sharpie pen, a pink-ink pen, a purple-ink pen, and a pretty regular Bic pen on a page of the notebook. Not surprising, the king-size Sharpie went through the page and bled onto the one following. But why would you ever be writing in a notebook with a king-size Sharpie?!? The two other Sharpie markers bled through the page but not onto the one following. The notebook page stood up to all the pen inks as a good notebook should. I added pics of my ink testing in case you want to see my results.Yep. This is a good notebook. I need to go write in it now.

I was really hoping this was hard bound. Overall I'm satisfied.

If you buy this notebook you'll never want to use a plain old typical notebook again. Who knew a notebook could be so sleek and cool! The cover has a definite sophisticated texture and bright color. But the best part by far are the pages! You open it up and it begs to be written or drawn in. It opens up flat. And the lines are in the same shade as the cover. There are no margin lines -- just thin mulberry colored lines that end floating in space on the page. Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! The metal spiral isn't even a typical color -- it is bronze instead of silver. Since there are no vertical lines on the pages for margins, the pages seem a whole lot bigger, freer, just plain nice.

I was fully expecting just another notebook when I received this, but I've been using it regularly for months now and I am really impressed with how sturdy the cover is. I tend to open notebooks so that the front and back cover are next to each other and the "top" is a sheet of paper that I write info and notes on, and what usually happens is that either the back or front cover start to come loose from the wire. Not this one! I've carried around the house for ages and it's still looking brand new, and the pocket is still intact even though I've used it regularly as well.The cover is more brown than the photo shows, so it's a more neutral color, basically eggplant. Not a huge fan of the faux alligator skin pattern but it's not enough to make me downrate the item. Definitely recommend trying one if you need a sturdy notebook.

I have to admit, I'm a fan of the Mead Cambridge notebooks from way back. I just love the small lines and business mind they are created with. This one has a magenta crocodile textured cover that is thick enough to protect its contents. I would prefer a slightly harder cover so that I can write better on the go, but its fine when writing on a desk or table. The thin-ruled sheets inside are lined with a matching magenta color which gives it a fun feeling (almost like you aren’t at work!) The sheets are perforated so you can tear them out. This is a very simple notebook with a date area in the top corner but nothing else. I like the double-wire spiral because even when you start running out of paper it stays firm and in place. This is not my favorite Cambridge notebook but still pretty darn good.

A premium notebook. A nice weight of college-ruled paper is sandwiched between crocodile-patterned covers.The spiral binding's double-rings are copper colored, with the embossed Cambridge logo on the front.In this era of electronic note-taking, there are still people who prefer to hand-write and save those notes (as opposed to how I do, with periodic scribbles that get transcribed to electronic format as soon as possible). This notebooks is aimed at those handwriters, with pages that are perforated, lined, and even have a spot to record the date per-page, in a nice-looking notebook that doesn't scream "grade school supplies".The "Business notebook" labeling and pricing say this is meant for adults in a professional setting, but the color (even the lines on the pages are purple) and blingish copper spiral and logo may be a bit much for those in a buttoned-down environment. But if you like to take notes on paper, and aren't put off by the rather premium pricing, this notebook is a nice choice. Recommended.
