Great color, true to life as I have the print by Katherine Giles.

Another good Splash book.
I received my copy of this book today. I do have all the books from this series. Well done. However, I would very much like to see a chapter on abstract and abstract realism. Also, how about having some Plein Aire paintings. I am a watercolor painter and definitely appreciate each and every book of this series. I am hoping Splash 18 will have some things we have not seen before.I did notice that there are some new artists in this book, nice to see that.

Great for all watercolor artists!
Enjoy this book so much and I love to watercolor myself! Have gotten many tips from the included artists and inspired to be a better painter myself. The book arrived on time and exactly as I expected it to!

Never a Bad Experience
I've never had a bad experience. In fact, it's almost too easy to get stuff. Amazon is the first place I look. Don't always find what I want, but most of the time

PRETTY MUCH THE MIXTURE AS BEFORE
I find it hard to resist each new "Splash", but nowadays I'm beginning to find them a bit "samey"; I don't think I would mind if I never saw another American photo-realist painting of twinkly glassware, various chrome and silver reflecting objects, all too often against a black background, shiny vintage auomobiles, peeling paintwork, and appealing dogs; but here they all are, yet again... These genres have surely now sunk to the level of the journeyman - and more importantly, all of them would look exactly the same if done in oils, acrylics or even pastels. The best examples of the mastery of the unique qualities of watercolour - which in my view is what such anthologies should be about - are to be found in the section labelled "City Scenes", although here again we are treated to what seems to have become another essential staple of these anthologies, the reflections in the shop window. Only a couple, thank goodness, but I could do without those, too.The "People" section includes some excellent portraits, and the opening picture to that section is one of the book's most impressive - as is the opening picture to the "City scenes" section. "Landscapes" divides pretty equally between "proper" watercolours and more imitations of other media. The mixture as before, then; but it's nice to see that Editor Rachel's picture shows her to look as chirpy as ever, albeit now with dead-white hair after her 25 years or so in charge.
