A great retro feel
This product bought tears to my husbands eyes as it reminded him of his father in the kitchen doing the dishes. My husband is 65.

poor quality
this is a poor quality radio. First time ever purchased a Roberts expecting (from other products and reviews) some quality. Also a beautiful retro look. No real instructions, the radio simply didn't work for a couple of hours, then after a random pressing of buttons it did, the interface incomprehensible - goodness me, try using the preset controls!Really disappointed - it's now packed up altogether after barely three months. Will never buy a Roberts again, the quality is too iffy for the money. It seems to be that Sony seem to be the only quality manufacturer of Radios.

Great Radio Not A Paid Review
**I'm not a Vine reviewer and paid £130 of my own money for the radio**I've always had Roberts radios and have a small collection from the 70's and 80's all in mint condition. I've always bought Pure for DAB and this was bought to replace a Pop Maxi, which had given up after nearly 10,000 hours of use. Out of the box it's obviously a Roberts and reminds me of a retro-modern version of the RFM3. Set-up as with all DAB radios' is very straight forward; you basically plug it in a turn it on. However, although having the screen on top may improve aesthetics, it also impedes the functionality with more limited menu options. I'm still trying to work out the presets, which aren't as intuitive as my Pure sets. I currently have the same station on two and there's nothing in the instructions to explain how to override this. I won't use the alarm or timer functions, but can imagine they would be equally as confusing.Sound-wise this is a big improvement over the Pop Maxi, which despite being a stereo model had quite a flat sound. This Rambler is much livelier although it doesn't doesn't offer much stereo separation. Build quality is nice in comparison to the Pure, which is basically a plastic box.Overall I'm happy with it and can see no issues with using it for up to 8 hours a day. My only gripe is the cost. For the same money you can find a fully restored Hacker Hunter, which is a real radio with a soul and not just a box of circuits.

Instruction sheet not particularly helpful!
Dislike: (a)Absence of full instructions, (b)Product incapable of accessing Radio 4 Extra - even after I had recourse to the helpline of the Roberts Radio website. But other areas of interest: Radio 3, Radio 4 and Classic FM all as expected from Roberts.

Usual Robert's Radio quality.
I have had Robert's radios in the past am have always been very pleased with them. I bought this model as I wanted one that was DAB Plus so that I could listen to my favourite oldies station of Boom Radio UK.

Sounds like an empty can
Looks awesome. But that's it. The sound is even more retro than the looks. Sounds like it's playing inside an empty can. It's very lightweight and you can see through it that it's just two small speakers in an empty box. Also, the user interface is a bit quirky. You shouldn't need to read the user manual over and over again to select preset FM channel.Quality seems good though, so two stars for quality and looks.
