Stanek Does It Again!
Any book by Wiliam Stanek is worth reading if you are in IT. This book provides good insight for us IT pros that would be lost on the Inside Windows 10 editions. I believe having this book would compliment the Windows 10 Resource Kit which is essential if you are migrating to Windows 10 and providing support.

This book is a HUGE disappointment!
It is a sheep in wolf's clothing. Not at all for an "IT Pro", which I am, it is perhaps appropriate for an office manager. An IT pro needs to know about computer security. Look in the index for "Security". Nothing, nada, zip. We need to know about constructing a TCP/IP firewall for various requirements. About the Windows 10 internal firewall? Index says? Nothing. TCP/IP? Nothing. Microsoft does push broken patches to our computers. Anything in the book about identifying and selectively backing out patches to restore operation? Nope. How to navigate Microsoft's Knowledge base to locate known issues, fixes or workarounds? Nope, you're on your own. Trouble-shooting in general? Just two things in the index on start problems and stop errors, in the last three pages of the book. The author has apparently "drunk the koolaid" at Microsoft. What you have here is just examples of screens in Windows 10 that show you how it's supposed to work. That is worth something. But when thing don't work as Microsoft intended, which DOES happen, has ALWAYS happened, this book will be no help at all. If you ARE an "IT Pro" pass this one up; it's not at your level. Finally, what's with all this gray ink? If it means some original text was in color, publish it in color. Otherwise, publish it in black ink, as printers have done since Gutenberg. Gray does not make reading easier!

From a beginner's perspective, it's good
I've only gone through a third of the book yet but I'm finding it a rather easy read. I work in an Ops team and I have been a Java developer - but that happened +10 years ago, with several years in between completely disconnected off the field. Hence, I needed something to start learning again while on the job and I read good reviews about this book. So far so good.

Regular
I was expecting something more professionnal about W10 and not a book explaining how to manage W10 home, how to connect to windows Hello or explaining me how to open local gpos, etc..I am working as OS admin for years and this book did not helped me at all.Would have called the book "administering W10" and that's it. Not for IT Pros ... intermediate or beginners.Sorry
