Works fine
Works as well as the E series toothbrushes I have used for years. Don’t like that it gets so wet when brushing.

Just another ewaste electric toothbrush
Nothing special about this toothbrush, same as all other. The user experience is poor, the replaceable toothbrush is difficult to take off adding more frustration to the user. The cost to manufacture this toothbrush is no more than $10 yet they sell it for 5 times the value. I kept this as the batteries will last longer. So why not so positive review, well I cannot wait until the USA gets smart and implements regulation like in Europe that all batteries in devices to be user-replaceable, stop manufacturing ewaste devices!!!!! Yes, I wanted to replace the batteries in my previous electric toothbrush but this company decided to GLUE the batteries to the device and I have not yet been successful in removing the glued batteries. So I may have to trash, ewaste, my previous electric toothbrush.

Battery doesn't last very long.
I have an old one and wanted a newer version. The newer model's battery doesn't last very long. That part has been disappointing. It needs to be on charge at all times.

Terrible battery run time
I charged the new toothbrush overnight but the flashing green light never stopped, indicating that the battery was never fully charged. The first charge lasted five days, the next four, the next three, and now I'm down to just two days of brushing before the charge is gone. Useless for a weekend trip. My five-year-old toothbrush had a longer run time when the switch stopped working! It brushes fine.

Happy buyer here!
I've wanted to try an electric toothbrush for years, and when I saw the Phillips Sonicare on sale for $30, I had to grab one and try it out! I've been using it for about a week now, and I really like it! I bought the "sensitive" model, because I've been recommended by my dentist to use the softest available toothbrush. There are a bunch of features which make this a great solution for taking care of your chompers, so let me tell you why I think it's awesome.First, it's got a small form factor, and it's wireless and rechargeable. This means that you treat it like you would any other toothbrush, except you put it on the dock when you're done brushing.Second, there are two integrated (and automatically on out of the box) features that I really like. #1 is EasyStart, which slowly ramps up the output power of the toothbrush over your first 14 uses, to help get your gums used to an electric toothbrush. It does exactly that, but the increments are so small you don't notice. #2 is the Smart timer feature, which makes the toothbrush "buzz" in a very noticeable way every 30 seconds of brushing to let you know when to change quadrants of your mouth so you get the full dentist recommended 2 minutes of brushing. The brush turns itself off after two minutes in case anyone wonders.Thirdly, although I can't find any info online about this, I BELIEVE the Sonicare Essence is waterproof. I usually brush my teeth in the shower, so after a couple of days wondering, I thought, "it's only $30, if I break it, I'll just buy another!" So far so good, I haven't had any issues using it in the shower, but obviously you want to put the charging dock somewhere else :)Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if you use this brush in the shower and damage it or yourself. I'm a reviewer, not the all seeing all knowing Owl Man.EDIT 12/29/16 - I have now been using this unit in the shower and rinsing it in the sink without a care in the world, and it still works perfectly. I think it's safe to say this unit is totally waterproof.Overall, I think this was $30 well spent. If I have any issues, with waterproofing or anything else, I'll update the review, but for now I definitely recommend this brush. I don't see what the benefit would be of buying an electric toothbrush for more $$, because this one works great!

Battery lasts a long long time!
I used to buy those ten dollar toothbrushes at the grocery store and they only last a couple months. A friend said they used a Sonicaire toothbrush and really liked it so I decided to check and see if Amazon had them which they did. The price was decent so I ordered one. It is a step up from those grocery store toothbrushes. It has a rechargeable battery that I have only had to charge one time since getting it. It also has a function where it buzzes each minute so you know when you have brushed for the recommended two minutes. This is not a needed feature but kind of nice to have and would be great for children first starting to brush their own teeth. There are different brush heads you can get with different softness ratings. I would recommend this toothbrush to anyone looking for a new toothbrush.

Powerful! **UPDATED**
Very disappointed that this toothbrush could barely last one year. It still works but it is SO weak that brushing with it is such a pain. Worse than manual toothbrush. I keep it charged constantly so I know it’s not that it’s out of battery, it’s just a crappy toothbrush. I will try to contact Philips to see what they can do (though I doubt they’ll do anything).EDIT: Turns out there was caked on toothpaste between the head of the toothbrush and the metal prong which was preventing the toothbrush to be used to its full capacity. I cleaned out the toothpaste and now the toothbrush is just as powerful as when I first bought it!!

Brush Intensity
I previously had a Philips Sonicare toothbrush that konked out after about 7 years, which was pretty amazing, but it was the higher end model. This time I decided to purchase a basic model that advertised 2 brush intensities which I felt would be sufficient for my needs. However, there was no noticeable difference between the 2 intensities.

happy i bought it!!!
I really enjoy this toothbrush. my dentist has suggested for quite a while i invest in a sonic toothbrush. This one at the price was a no brainer. I bought 3. One for me, one for my 10 year old and one for my 6 year old. they love it and i find that my teeth feel soooooo much cleaner and the kids teeth are actually getting cleaner too. would buy again in a heartbeat! wish i didn't wait so long to pull the trigger to buy.
