Easy!
I was so panicked I wouldn’t be able to get the broken phone jack out of my iPad. The reviews were mixed and I was afraid I’d do it wrong and break it worse. But, all that changed when I actually used the product. It was easy to use and worked in less than a minute! Definitely saving this tool for the future.

It Worked!
We were on vacation out of state when my daughters headphones left the tip of the plug in her iPad. Headphones and external speakers would no longer work. We went to one of those “Fix your Phone” shops and they worked on it for 15 minutes with no luck. Thankfully audio would work with Bluetooth headphones.I did a quick search on Google and Amazon and found this product. I figured for $10 I couldn’t go wrong. First three tries I followed the instructions, felt the tube slip over the headphone piece, gave it a couple gentle taps, and tried pulling it out with my hands. No go.Fourth try I did the same thing except I used pliers to pull the tube out and I grabbed the tube closest to the iPad squeezing the gap in the tube to put more pressure on the headphone piece. I slowly pulled the tube out and there was the piece! Woo hoo!!This was very well worth the $ spent, even if it didn’t work. I was able to get this piece out, DIY with this tool, when a shop and tech who fixes this stuff every day wasn’t able to. Thank you!

Flimsy and delicate
I have a video camera which takes a 3.5mm microphone jack. The jack broke off inside its socket, and I bought a set of these to try to remove it. Although I carefully followed the instructions, the tools would not grip the stub of the jack to lift it out. I can see how these are intended to work, and perhaps on a looser fitting plug they might have some effect. But none of them worked in my camera despite repeated attempts.

It worked !
Let me just say these work great ! You may have to use two or three for headphone jack that is stuck . Most importantly make sure it goes in far enough . Just dont go to far in . for 8 dollars it worth trying first instead of spending about 125.00 at a repair shop.

Excellent Tool
In the picture you may notice a crimped tube. I bent it on my first try but used it again and squeezed it when pulling it out and boom out came the jack from hubbies smart phone. I believe they provide 5 tubes because some may crimp on the first few tries. The tubes have to be somewhat flexible in order to squeeze them. If they were hard medal they would not be as user-friendly. I saw some reviews that say they were crap, but that’s because they could have used them with too much force. I tried to take advantage of my insurance that we have purchased on our phones and before I tried this tool and the replacement phone they gave me was trash so I opted to try to fix it myself for seven dollars that was great because my deductible was $49 Assurant. They have terrible service by the way. Get these read the instructions and go easy and it will work. I wouldn’t use glue.

Absolutely did not work
Bought this for the 3.5m jack in my car’s audio system that broke. This was not helpful at all. It’s just little pieces of metal, it never caught the broken part of the jack. I tried hitting it in the port as hard as a could with a hammer. Still, nothing. Waste of time and money.

Technicians best friend
As a technician who works in a school, these are a must. I need to order more because i used them all getting 3 of the broken audio jacks out of the prep class iPads. They are the only tool that I've had relatively good success with removing the jacks. I've even tried super glue on the end of a stick.Save yourself the headache and just get these.

Removed the snapped stuck headphone jack inside my iPad
Managed to remove a large chunk of headphone jack that had snapped inside my iPad.Remove any casing on your device and try to push in the extractor as far as you can, then try to grip clamp the lowest point you can to get a grip on it. You can reopen the extractors after clamping by pushing a flat head screwdriver through on its side. This headphone jack was very stubborn and I had to use 3 of the extractors in this pack to get it out as it was really wedged in there. After removal my jack is working as normal and once again have sound from the iPad speakers.
