one of the best ever musicals.saw it in London and it was wonderful, not sure why the US version bombed.almost all the songs are great.

Excellent music from AR Rahman it was a pity that the show was on too short a run.

This CD contains most of the songs of the musical. It has quite some memorable songs such as Shakalaka Baby and The Journey Home.

I started out looking for Loves Never Easy sung by Preya Kalides which came out as a single about ten years ago, and was surprised to find that despite being in the show, she doesn't sing it on this record, though it is done by another character in the show. However, it is quite an exciting soundtrack, very evocative of India, and overall, very good.
