I love this watch
I love this watch. The price was right and it did everything I needed it to do and lasted through my entire 50 mile race. I am planning on doing a 100 miler and hope this watch can last that long but I might not make it the entire time.

Affordable All-in-One Watch
Great watch. Easy to use. A forever battery. Perfect for ultra running. Only down side is the Epson website. It is rather outdated in its set up.

Initially drawn in by the long battery life and cheap price, but now realize I should've invested in a better watch because the mileage tracking on this one only gets worse the longer you run. Ran a 50k and it recorded barely 28 miles... 4 miles is a pretty big difference. Wouldn't purchase again solely because of the tracking issues.

It let me down.
I don't mind the simplicity, the somewhat non intuitive usability and awkward app. But I did a 50 miler with this watch and it was 7 miles off by the end. I knew it was getting farther and farther ahead as the day went on, so I wasn't totally thrown off, but it was really annoying. Then it didn't sync the GPS map of where I ran afterward, like the data disappeared. I wasn't off the grid or anything, but I guess not enough signal. I bought it because I wanted a long battery and GPS but it was ultimately useless because the GPS was so off. I'm going to save up for a new Garmin again. Pros: I think it's nice looking, simple, I wore it to work sometimes, I like the mileage goes to .000 and that it will sync right to Strava, except for the one time after my 50 when it wouldn't do that either.

Epson/Seiko - An attractive Sports watch. No heartrate monitor with SF-710.
I am a major gadget freak more than a runner, so having something like this actually motivates me to actually go running out there. Most running sports watches out there are not very attractive, but this one is an exception. However, I agree that the buttons are not very intuitive, especially in today's standards where it's able to accomplish more with less buttons. The four buttons behave differently depending on whatever the screen is active (the clock or measuring) and whether you're pressing it once or holding it.I'm sure they wanted to go for a clean look (I like the chrome frame), but I rather have an easier navigating watch. You will DEFINITELY need to refer to the manual several times until you really get a natural feel of the button functions. I'm pretty sure if the interface/menu was better to begin with (or just simply better labeling), it could be a lot easier to navigate with fewer buttons. I think a 'Confirm' button should be on the center of the watch; it just feels odd and sometimes difficult to remember and press the bottom left "DISP." (Display) button acts as the 'OK' button.- The TOP LEFT side button is labeled "LIGHT" (referred to as button 'B' in the manual), of course, is easy to remember that it turns on the light on the watch. Long pressing the LIGHT button while it's displaying the main time brings up the Settings menu.- The BOTTOM LEFT side is labeled "DISP." (referred to as button "A" in the manual), which is actually used the most because it works as a "confirm" function. Long pressing it will turn on/off the watch. When it is on the measuring screen, it actually does function as "Display" toggle as labeled. The TOP RIGHT side is labeled "START/STOP" (referred to as button "C"), which initiates connecting to the GPS; and if successful, it will proceed to the measuring screen. Long pressing will turn on indoor mode (GPS off)The BOTTOM RIGHT is labeled "LAP" (referred to as button "D"), which shows workout history. Long pressing: Turns on bluetooth syncing modeWith this watch, you can measure and set a goal until a set time or distance is reachedI wish the watch showed the day of the week too.Although GPS lock is not instant, I had no problem locking in satellites indoors.Pros:- Large screen and bright light; easy to see (my first watch of this kind, Basis Health Tracker, had the worst display ever!)- Made in Japan / Seiko brand.- 30 hour battery life, much better than the entry SF-110 model (lasts 2 weeks as a regular watch)- When it's in indoor mode (GPS off), the screen color inverts, making it easy to tell (you can also invert the colors as default)- Charges fastCons:- Not a fan of web-based apps interface; basically a browser-like experience (Epson Run Connect); would like a better interface.- No heartrate monitor (not available in this model; they offer it on the Epson Runsense SF-810)- Water-resistant, but not waterproof.- Wish there was a more permanent way to pair with the phone; having to pair each time is somewhat of a nuisance.I noticed this message within the app:"Saved measurement data has been simplified to reduce transfer time. To check data in more detail, upload all measurement data using Run Connect for Trek."I have no idea what this means. I noticed there is an app called "Run Connect for Trek" but that app is unsupported for my devices.
