VERY powerful in all aspects. Really removes the moss and weeds - but proceed with caution when setting depth using the rake attachment (it removes anything in its path). I advise trial at highest setting first. Totally agree that the collection box is helpful but weak.

Arrived in time and put it straight to work. I have to say assembly instructions could be better, I had to Google it to get the grass basket in place. Other than that good value for money, I have a big garden so scarifying by hand wasn't an option. This made job very easy. Manual rake still needs to come out but for doing it once a year I'm not bothered.

Lightweight, easy to assemble and use, with a useless moss / grass collector.I think you'd need a basket the size of a dustbin, which is of course impractical..I still haven't worked out how the wall mounted storage bracket would work, so I've ignored it.

Just the right weight, doesn't bounce around like lighter machines, so the scarifying operation is smoother and more efficient. Not bad to assemble. Has a nice feeling of quality and good design, with very easy changes to cutting height.The only downside is the collection bag. In comparison with the rest of the machine, it seems flimsy.All in all, I'm very satisfied with the machine.

Having used other makes of scarifier before, I found this way out in front for performance, with many settings on both blades including an aereator blade.The blades are easy to change, just dont go like a bull in a china shop and remember to clean everything of damp residue when you have used it.The lowest aerator setting is adequate if you have not done it before or lately, and then work down the settings.The machine does pick up some debris, but but is better to hand rake and then go over it with a mower with a box afterwards to pick up stuff thats left behind.I am pleased with thus purchase, I have a small to medium are of grass which was weedy and compacted.It's much better now.I reseeded the areas that looked a bit sparce after use, knowing that there is heavy rain due in a couple of days.The seed disappearred amongst the raised grass almost straight away after a light going over with a lawn rake.It is a labour saving device, but you do have to put some effort in yourself.Without this machine I wouldn't have aereated the grass areas the soil is too heavy, with it, it was easy.

I didn't find it that difficult to assemble, the instructions aren't amazing but if you've assembled something like this before then that'll definitely help. This scarifier is wider than others on the market in this price bracket and also has more height settings too which are beneficial.The only downside is the collection basket which feels very flimsy. Upon first use, the clippings were only being caught into the opening of the basket and it wasn't filling up. I found that most were falling to the ground when the opening had been clogged. In the end I took the basket off and scarified without, opting to manually rake up the dead grass/moss etc. On second use, I tried again with the basket but noticed it was flopping to one side as one of the metal lugs had broken clean off, rendering it even more useless than before.Overall, it's a good powerful machine and does the job well, it's just let down by the collection basket.

Fairly easy to put together. Worst bit is trying to work out how the frame fits into the collection bag, but figured it out after a bit of trial and error. A diagram would be useful.The collection bag is a bit difficult to secure into to holding brackets of the machine - you need to force the machine flap up to its limit to get proper access and the collection bag frame feels a little flimsy.The raker performed well at raking up dead grass and moss etc, but as others have stated, not much of it is collected in the bag, most is dumped under the machine. Could be because the quantity was overwhelming as it was the first use of the year. Found it easier to not use the collection bag and rake up manually afterwards.After 30 minutes use, one of the front wheels fell off. Managed to fix it back on. Hopefully, it was due to the securing star washer either not being put on properly or put on the wrong way round. Time will tell if the problem has been fixed.Providing the wheel stays on I will be happy with the machine - it did do a good job of raking up and the lawns look better gor it.

delivered 2 days earlymy niece put it together for me a bit difficult putting the handle onto the machineused it this week and yes the grass does look like a ploughed field but did the job well have plenty of bags ready I am well pleased with this machine

Order this from Amazon UK since there are almost none to few options available when it comes to buy a scarifier/dethatcher in Australia. Have used to dethatch around 70 sq mtr of my lawn successfully.Mind it that you'll need to buy a good UK to AU plug adaptor, and heavy duty extension lead.
