Scholastic Atlas of the United States Hardcover – January 1, 2000

We bought a copy for each of our students to use as a reference while labeling maps of the states for a class. The students range from 7 years to 12 years old. This has been a great choice because there is enough detail to label the maps but not so much that it is confusing. The states are arranged by region which is also how we are studying them so it is a great fit for us. There is also important information about each state such as nickname, capital, population, interesting facts, date of statehood, which number state they are, and more.

Love this book. Great little snip it about each state. Even helpful for my Jr. Higher and my elementary kids!

The detail of each map is excellent. Many maps do not distinguish clearly the physical features, i.e. river names, etc.) This is a great, inexpensive atlas.

I selected this atlas for my entire class to use because it is simple, colorful, and has just enough info. Two main reasons I chose it were that the price was right. The price of every other atlas I looked at placed them out of my budget. The main reason I like this atlas is that the maps are all printed on a single page. I do not like it when maps are split across the two pages, making them difficult to read. I have used an earlier edition of this atlas, and am in the process of replacing those books with this updated version. You really can't beat the price and the usefulness of this atlas. I recommend it for grades four through eight.

This book gave my kids an indepth, yet interesting look into each state. Highly recommend this if you are studying the states!

Good info on United States geography. Includes important cities in each state.
