Q: Would these sticks be good for a 11 year old boy just starting to learn to drum?..very beginner

As a drum instructor, I really like Vic Firth sticks. They stay straight longer and feel good in the hand. I recommend 7 size with nylon tips for jazz and these 5’s for rock and country etc.

Q: Hi I am about to order this Vic Firth X5A, but I am not sure of 1 quality means as a pair of drum sticks right? thanks

I use them exclusively now, having been a fan of both Pro-Mark 747 and Vader's 'pro-rock' sticks. The classic 5A was a little short and too light, though they had great response. I was turned onto the X5A by a fellow drummer. They're a little longer and slightly heavier in the tip. Gave me just what I needed for control and balance. Been using them exclusively now. Love'em! My style is a mixture of rock, progressive and jazz, some metal thrown in, to give you an example of my applications.

Q: Has anyone used the joey kramer aerosmith zildjian sticks? how do these compare?

All brands of sticks are good but they all feel a little different. To me the best stick is Regal 5A a very fast stick..
