Good, very portable speaker
Overall sound quality is good for a speaker of this size.Positive points must be the variety of connections available and how compact and easy to carry it is.Negative points is the Bluetooth connectivity only accepts one device at a time and so you need to forget device before it’ll pair to another. Also, it was 110v and so I needed to buy a separate 110-220v transformer before I could use it.

GREAT Until I turned in on. Lots of Features - Harsh and Distorted - Poor Low End Response
Look ... this speaker is dirt cheap and it sounds like ... Well ... DIRT. Ignore the reviews that say this is the BEST SPEAKER EVER! I frankly don't know where in CHINA all these glowing reviews are coming from. : ) It is really very full featured to be perfectly fair and the BlueTooth connected no problem. Everything works as far as functionality goes. Not sure what other feature you would want in a speaker. Unfortunately sound quality is poor. There's lots of distortion, harshness and clipping even at low volume. Sounds like a cheap piezo tweeter and a trashy one too. The picture shows a compression driver but not what shipped. EQ-ing doesn't help much either. Not sure if it is the internal amp or the speakers or both. Not much low end response either even for an 8" woofer so don't expect it it pound the ground. I connected it via a proper XLR balanced cable to another known quality powered speaker and got a little distortion from that one too so it might not just be the speakers. Bluetooth may be adding some distortion too. I thought maybe my phones' bluetooth might have been the problem so I went to a Klipsch sound system we have paired with the same phone to ... FIX my ears and compare the quality to that. Yep ... sounded great. So ... I am going to give this thing a proper breakin period and see if it improves at all ... I'm frankly not hopeful. It was absolutely great ... until I turned it on. Oh well ... I'll work with it for a while and see if it improves. I have other powered speakers of various qualities so I know what to expect. Not sure this thing is usable even at this bargain basement price. Will update if I change my opinion. Otherwise if it doesn't improve in a week of breakin, it is going back.Update: The overall is improving a little bit with 70% burn in and I gave this thing another work out this morning using the Bluetooth. I ran my bible narratibe app through it with just voice and it bobbled the blutooth connection some skipping words in and out right when the BOSS was speaking. Doesn't do this with music however. May be a demon. This is a Samsung phone I have used and paired with at least 8 or 9 other devices including my car and Klipsh entertainment system with no problems. Hmm ... I don't know whether to have it Exorcised or send it back. I think I might send it back it doesn't meet my bare minimum quality standards even at this price. The perfomance from vocal mics and the SD Card is a little better to be fair and acceptable to those not so picky as myself. I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel all these glowing reviews on this item may not be LEGIT to be frank. My go with another recognizable brand name with similar features and try again. Performance just did NOT live up to the Feature Set. It may be good enough for casual voice use and speaking. Music is iffy. I'm going to keep pushing it for a week. Maybe it will improve further. I can smell the voice coils a little ... they may be loosening up : ) On a more positive note , it does work exactly as advertised if you aren't a Nit Picker like me.

Great very clear sounding speakers!
I didn't purchase my SPA-8Bat from Amazon but I did purchase my non battery unit here. But units are great especially for the price. I have both the 8 inch Battery and non battery units. I wanted at least one unit that could be used in case I didn't have power. The only drawback I have seen is not so much base of course I kinda expected that from a 8 inch woofer. So I have both units on stands and teamed up with a 10 inch powered subwoofer. This works great for showing movies outside with my projecter. It also is great for music because I do a few Christian DJ gigs for churchs, parties, outdoor worship and weddings. Several people talked about how the battery didn't last. I don't have that issue but I mostly use it plugged in. I realize it wouldn't be as convenient but you do have the option to hook it up to an external battery. Some might want to check into that. I also find the mixing controls, bluetooth connection and other connections to be very useful. Several other speakers don't have this.

Speaker that packs a punch!!!
Being a music speaker tech system nerd, I thought let me try something with new age tech and a brand that kicks sound. This speaker surprisingly delivers with great clear sound. Controls the low, mid and high ends with most music. Excellent control knobs. Played rnb, reggae, deep house, jazz and classical. All sound very good!!Via Bluetooth it’s solid holding the transmission within a 25 metre range.Annoyingly though you have to log out of one device to use another device otherwise your locked in from the old device so note,…remember the last device that’s logged in. The Dong connection sound needs to be updated! lol.Would be good to have the latest Bluetooth tech to share login with many devices like the Bluetooth jbl charge 3 speaker. This Should be upgradable with software!!!??? Although,..This is solid and it’s built like a tank so you’d expect some impressive performance. Yeah,…this speaker is a poser and With all the other connections for an instrument or mic is very handy. It’s been used for garden parties 30-50 peeps , and a meeting in a hall with 80 peeps. This is easily transportable. 100 watts is reasonably load for one speaker so for the purpose, it’s good. I like heavy bass speaker systems so having a compact speaker like this is with its functions is enough these days. Would be good to have a sub woofer button. To get that deeper low end sound. You can only try it to witness the capabilities this speaker delivers to the atmosphere.Personally you won’t be disappointed!!!Had for almost 4 years now and I really haven’t looked for anything else cos this speaker still rocks!!! Great Value for money

Make sure it fits to your requirement
I bought this item based on stellar reviews on Amazon but then I wished I would have done more research. The item is fine in its own right but if you are a novice on sound engineering (like myself) then few points worth noting. Had I knew this before, I might have chosen something else. The product comes with one page documentation which does not help either. This is a compact PA (Personal Announcement) system. It has 2 line input channels. However, this is not the full story and this is where I got stumped. This system has 2 line inputs. However, only one of them (line input 1) has marking MIC/LINE INPUT. This means, this input has amplifier needed (you get push button for mic on this port) to turn up the feeble voltage generated by a microphone. The other input is just line input (red-white RCA and aux ports) - this means if you attach a mic to this port, it will not have pre-amp required to raise the voltage of mic. So, you can't use mic on this port.Later I realized that for any of these types of intruments, mic ports are only where you can see XLR input. In this system, it is only available for line input 1 (hindstight is always good). All these translates to simple fact that this system can be used with just one mic and not two. This was a disappointment for me.The speaker is bluetooth capable and you can play any sound from your bluetooth enabled device. The sound is loud enough for a small venue (50-70 people). Sub-woofer is also good.It is possible to use line input 2 with mic but you need to attach a separate mic-to-line pre-amp. But might be better to buy a standalone sound mixer instead and use this speaker as output from mixer. The other thing I didn't like is that quality of knobs on the back. They are protruding type and feels fiddly. I would have liked shorter and robust knobs.I am keeping it because (as already mentioned) it is not a single trick pony. It can be used with a sound mixer (which I am planning to buy later). It can also be a replacement of "sound bar" as you can connect output sound from your TV to line input 2 using RCA red-white cables.
