Smooth, Clean and Light on Caffiene
My new favority drink. An easy boost in the early morning to get things going and also in the early afternoon to keep me going. Really good clear minded lift. I use one heaping teaspoon either alone or with powdered cacao for an interesting flavor and also good sustenance. My other favorite combo is Numi Tea Turmeric Chai or Cacao with 1/2 heaping teaspoon of the Mate Matcha. So a Turmeric Matchey, even lower in caffiene.

Fresh, Clean Taste
I thought I could get away with making lazy tereré (cold brew yerba mate) using this. The powder sinks to the bottom of my drinking vessel pretty quickly. It's an easy fix to stir again before sipping, but perhaps this would do best in warm water or added to smoothies or lattes. I find Eco Teas' yerba mate to consistently have a clean taste throughout their products and like their mate line.

Such a great idea!
I had never really purchased matcha for home use but when I saw that EcoTeas came out with Yerba Mate Matcha, I jumped to purchase it. I'm a daily Ecoteas mate drinker and I love this new way to get my mate! i also put some in my morning smoothie for an extra little kick.

Love This Mate in the morning
I am a heavy yerba mate drinker and I love this product to change up my mate experience a bit! Love to drink this with hot water, a little milk and then adding a drop of stevia leaf extract. It is smooth, tasty and it helps me with my mental clarity. Highly recommend!

Very Bitter
I was disappointed, I love green tea matcha and when I saw that there was a yerba mate matcha I knew I had to try it. Unfortunately it is very bitter and does not mix well. It is very bitter in cold water and not as bad in hot water but still bitter. I do like the idea of yerba mate matcha but it still needs work.

Name confused me ... but otherwise good for Yerba Mate
First of all, I am a bit confused by the name on this ... is it tea? Is it Yerba Mate? Is it a blend of powders? As near as I can tell, this is made of only ground Yerba Mate leaves. I thought Matcha was ground green tea leaves but apparently it can be considered the ground leaves of any plant. If you are looking for the Matcha most people think of ... made from Japanese green tea leaves, this isn't it. This is made from South American ground holly leaves aka Yerba Mate.Yerba Mate has a very similar appearance and flavour to green tea Matcha. It's grassy tasting. The benefits of Yerba Mate vs. green tea are regarded as similar. Some studies show that it contains even more benefits for your heart than Green tea. It's antioxidant properties are similar ... as is its caffeine levels, maybe a bit higher than your average Japanese green tea. I am highly sensitive to caffeine, specifically caffeine withdrawal, so I am cautious. Though the packaging contains no real information on caffeine content, etc. I would guess a cup would have around 80g, or the equivalent of a cup of tea. Or, about half of what a cup of coffee would contain. However, many say the effect of Yerba Mate, like Matcha, is different than coffee and your 'buzz' is more of a focused one and calming ... whereas coffee gives you more energy. Some studies show higher risk of cancer for prolonged, large Yerba Mate users, especially those who drink it hot and in large quantities.Blending this, like most Matchas, isn't easy. You'd likely need one of this milk frother tools to get a good blend. Even then, as you can see from my picture, you will have a little grittiness and grains on the side of the glass. This is typical to most powdered teas.Overall, I thought I was ordering green tea Matcha ... I usually use Encha ... but this seemed like a good value. I probably will stick to Japanese green tea Matcha once this is gone but for now it seems like a decent, less expensive alternative to ceremonial grade green tea Matcha.
